I reading other questions concerning W-2's. Why did they get a W-2 for 2010 when they didn't get paid until January 14, 2011? Well here is how it happened. They arrived GL mid Dec. They all signed up for direct deposit this takes awhile for it to process. So on the last working day of December they got paid as they are suppose to, however the Navy had no where to send it so they sat on it until the direct deposit information was loaded in which didn't occur until mid January. Hope this helps.  .

Any one looking for the W-2's have go onto mypay. Tell them look about half way down from there current pay statment. There should be a link to click for the W-2. At that point they can print it or save it then email it or what ever they wish. Also have them save all pay statement either print or save because they are only on there for a couple months then they are gone forever. You just never know when you may need one to prove something.

I have a feeling we aren't going anywhere!  That is what makes this a wonderful site.  My son was to start A school for corpsman in GL this past week but he got pushed back.  Been doing lots of cleaning.  Anyone with a sailor there?  A few guys from BC are there so they have been doing "guy" things.  We don't talk too much, I still want him to focus on task at hand but love hearing his ring tone on my cell, Anchors Away.  I couldn't resist!

I agree...we all had an incredible journey together. I don't know what I would have done without all of you. Thanks again! My friend is now going through the same thing with her son, he just left for the Air Force and she calls me when she is down b/c she knows I just went through what she is going through. She tells me that her best friend of 30 years just DON'T GET IT!!!!! I tell her how sorry I am for that but until you have been through it yourself ......you WON'T get it! No matter how hard your friends and family try it's not the same as the other moms that are going through the same thing at the same time. She said AF has a website but apparently they aren't as close as we all became b/c she said no one really wants to talk about it. I feel so sorry for her. Please say a prayer for her and her family she really needs it. She says she feels she is losing her mind. .....I reassured her she is not but it does feel like that sometimes. I so want to keep in touch with everyone...you all feel like family to me know and if I don't check in everyday or two I feel so lost. Have a great weekend everyone and a LONG weekend for those us of in the south celebreting Mardi Gras!!!! YIPPEE!!!! I love 4 day weekends!

I have to stop by and see what you are all up to every other day or so. I miss the countdown clock! I miss looking forward to letters in the mail box. We all went on a journey together and I am grateful to have made the journey with all of you!! It was an amazing journey! I am so proud of my son! He is in GL for school and it will be too long before I see him again. He is in a good place in his life and this is what makes me happy! I'm so grateful for modern technology as we can keep up with our sailors every day now!! I may miss the letters but I don't miss bootcamp days of not knowing!!
Today I framed my son's bootcamp portrait. I also put a blue star sticker in his bedroom window. It is for all the sailors away from home and their families. :)
Have a great weekend!!!

Maybe we should rename this group "The Pink Ladies"  because of our scarves!

I also agree that we should stick together, those early days would have been even harder if I didn't have all of you to help me though- Thank you!

I agree ladies..we must stick together! Those early days were terribly hard for me I could always count on you to lift me up and know that my feelings were not alone.  Thank you so much for your support and wisdom I have learned so much!   Have a great day and keep in touch.
