I think the bond here comes from those early days when none of us were hearing from our kids, and then sharing all the info we had when the letters finally started rolling in.  Also, sharing in the excitement of the final days when they were completing their training and Battle Stations.  Sharing all the stress, the joy, the worry, the success creates a bond that just cannot be broken.  We grew as woman while our kids became young men and women.

I haven't been on this site in awhile. Once back from graduation, I moved and was without the Internet for over a week. Hope everyone has recovered from our trips! I was real tired, but so worth it to see my son and PIR was just awesome!!! My son is in Pensacola and says he really likes it. I agree with staying in touch with each other!!! Isn't it nice to be able to talk with our Sailor's now and be on FaceBook??

Have a good weekend everyone!

I agree we should stay here together and just be the Alums, we don't have to change the name of the group, the date will not be another class with the same.

I too am on the Pensacola one and even though they are great, I think we have a special bond here.

Thanks for being here.

My daughters W-2 came here about a week ago. It was for one paycheck from the Navy

Hi all, my son is in Pensacola as well.  However, I'm all for starting an Alum PIR 2/18/11 to share information and just hear how everyone is doing no matter where the Sailors are now stationed. I, too, miss this group of Mom's.

asked my son a week or so about his W-2 and he didn't know anything at that time.  Where can I get his W-2? Should he have it by now?  He is in D.C. now.

So I wonder how many of our fellows are in Pensacola now?  Do we need to start a group or a discussion forum to compare notes?  I've joined the Pensacola group but I miss the Mom's here.

That is so confusing....now I have to do an amended return for him.  Ugh!  Thanks Bev!

Hey Terri - yes, they did have earnings in 2010 - the deposit that was in Jan was for the time from when the entered BC and was for about 4 weeks  - my son gave me his when we were at PIR - not the chemo brain - just our government at work!!

Bev
