Just a thought...we might get more than normal letters this week because they had holiday routine yesterday and Sunday :)

Renick- apparently they're only allowed to write during holiday routine (i.e. Sundays.) My letters have also only been coming on Thursdays, so I think they send them out on Mondays. :)

Missed alot of posts the past couple of days. I hope everyone is doing well. I've only gotten a letter on the past 2 Thursdays. Do the recruits only send mail once a week? I'm ready to hear his voice again ;-)

@ navymom99, can you and her recruiter take a copy of her MEPS orders and enlistment papers to the DMV and see if they will allow you to get it renewed that way?  Maybe going to the DMV in person to see the Military Assistance person there instead of trying to reach them on the phone they don't answer will speed it up.

the only problem is that takes a little time and she has to sign. We now have a week to get it done and I do not think there is anyway. There is suppose to be a military asst. at the NC DMV but no one ever answers. They probubly could help if they would answer. I am at a loss. She may just have to lose that job and pick another one. Maybe that one is just not meant to be. We will find out I guess.

Thanks for the support. I just do not understand why Meps would tell her that it was ok when it clearly is not. Oh well water under the bridge but it could affect alot of things. When she leaves where she goes for A-school ect. Crazy!

Glad it worked out, DSailor, to get the support you need.  Good luck to him!

navymom:Calling Public Affairs tomorrow is a good idea.  Hopefully they can direct you.  I'm sure this is NOT the first time this has happened to a recruit.

Navymom99-can you try contacting your US Representative or Senator? If they can't help, maybe your state Senator or Representative? They might be able to help you expedite the process. I'm so sorry you have to go through this :(

ok guys I need some help on what to do. my daughter sends me in a letter that her drivers licence had expired on her birthday in dec. In meps she had been told if it did that it would be fine so she never told me it would this year. Asked me if I could go on line and renew it for her someone there had told her I could on line. Well the same day I get a call from her saying I have a week and a half to get them renewed or I lose the job I am signed up for. NC is one of the few states you can not renew online. You can do it by mail but it takes 30 days just to get the paper to fill out and send back in. The recruiters and my family have been calling anyone and everyone trying to find out what to do. My next call is to public affairs at Great lakes. Do not know what to do. She really wants that job and she really does not need this kind of stress in boot camp while she is doing so good. Anyone have any ideas. Sorry so long but I really need some advice.
