Just spent 40 wonderful minutes talking to my son!! He sounds great!! He says he passed the swim test and has done well on his academic tests. His division won a flag for academics. He says he hasn't had to shovel. I told him I bet he was glad he already had his wisdom teeth out and he said "yeah about that" apparently there is a problem where his wisdom tooth was pulled and they have to go back in next week and slice open his gum and shave down part of his jaw bone. He says he is getting between 6 and 7 hours of sleep a night. He received his first pay deposit into the bank today.

OMG, I got my phone call! Nabbed the phone on the first ring and he was surprised that I was on it!  He said they had 40 mins, but then he had to hang up at 32:15... I hated to let him go. He said he really likes it and it glad that he joined! He loves my letters and stuff I send him. I asked him where he'd be standing at PIR, what he's training in, weapons, RDCs, sickness, teeth, bedtime, ironing, they got a scholastic flag and can get pennants, PFA test, PT, IT, brother division, weather, clothes, times he effed up, you name it... I asked it. He sounded like a new man. Keep your home phone line open, as Ii was expecting it on my cell!  He knows one of my friends husbands and we talked about so much stuff! Thank God.

I just got off the phone with my Son!!!  It was wonderful to hear from him.  He is sick (says most of them are) and missing his wisdom teeth!  We had 40 minutes to get in as much as we could.  He sounded very upbeat and tired all at the same time.  If there is a Mom out there in this division from Florida send me a message.  And he talked about a Jeffery (from California), if Mom's out there contact me.

I got another letter form my husband today :) He did the questionare that I sent him and wrote his personal comments on the back. He's concerned though about his A school, he keeps hearing that we can't live together for like 4 months and we don't get BAH. So he wants me to ask around and see if that's true or not. So far that I've read that if his schooling is 22 weeks or longer we'll be able to move up there and get Base Housing, but if its less they wont move us, we have to and use our own expenses, but we'll get BAH.

Does anyone want to help me clarify so I can put my husband's concerns to rest?

My husband sent back my survey and a letter today! He said the beds are uncomfortable and they keep the ship deathly hot. We keep our house around 70 so I wonder just how hot that ship is. He said his favorite time is when the RDCs leave and they can all talk and meet each other.

He said they already did the DEP test, swimming test, and PFT.

What was he most excited about? He had no cavities and doesn't have to get his wisdom teeth pulled.

Hi--got a one page letter. He seems good. Said he passed his pFA and is doing great with PT and IT. Said 5 bunkmates around him are awesome. I'd like to post two last names and maybe you could private message me if they are your sons. Arwen-- is it ok to post a last name here? Thanks!
