@ Newnavymom -- in a time that the military is all volunteer, I question why these recruits even joined if they were not going to follow the programs.  My daughter is having the same issue with her division and she is frustrated that they did not start their official training on time because of it. If you don't want to shut up and follow orders - why are you there?

Got two letters today, dated dec 20th and 31st, says that there are a bunch of recruits that wont listen, shut up when told and the rdc are pissed off and training hasnt started yet.  He says he will continue to do his best, but as a group they are not doing well...so I guess no hope for extra calls....but he says he will keep trying he just hopes that they don't throw the whole division out....kinda scary but thougth I would share the news  can  a division fail as a whole???

Got a phone call last night.  It was so good to hear from him and to hear his voice.  He is doing well and working hard.  That was the icing on the cake for me.

Diannep, I did call public affairs after I posted that message and she said...."I don't think you can, because they can't wear a watch while they are there.."

Soooo, I'm just going to wait since that didn't really clear up anything : ).

Corrinne:  Hmmmm.....I can't imagine that you can send those things...but why not call the Public Affairs Office and ask them?  847-688-2405  Let us know what they say.

I am veryy happyyy, not only
did we receive two letter's on thursday.
we received a call from my brother
yesterdayy, he was able to talk to us for a whole hour. and he will
be able to give us another call tomorrow. He is doing really good
he said he is leader of his group and they let them know
that his division is the best in his ship which makes me
feel so proud, he has the chance of graduating with honors which
makes me more proud. It is so good to hear from him :)

Stacie- Welcome. Looks like you're from California! Will you be heading out to Illinois for the graduation?
Comment by lynniemarie on January 10, 2011 at 2:30pm

MountainMama-Same here. If I get a call, I'll post.

kandio - I'm feeling the same way. I cry when someone plays the national anthem, or I see a flag in a movie.. or think about anything that reminds me my recruit is in training. Good Lord willing, we will hear from them this week.

Was watching weather and looked up average for weekend of PIR, low 16, high 34, does anyone know about airport weather delays that time of year for Chicago??

Worried about trying to get out there flying and ending up snowed out???  Snowed in would not be as bad, would have seen PIR,  does anyone know?
