hi ladies I got my first call today, it was a 3 minute call.We did some crying but was able to finish in a good supportive note. She did say that she will be able to call on the 12th next week for a whole hour.I hope those that have not gotten a call hang in there your son or dghter will call. She also said she got all her mail on Monday.. she said mom write on monday it takes 5days of them to give us the mail, so figure if i write on Sunday night mail it out on Monday she will get it on Sat or Mon of the following week. God Bless everyone.

Does anyone else get random bouts of missing them? I'll be doing fine then I will just miss him terribly, usually unprovoked.

Hello all...

Day 21 still no contact..... letters or phone call... but as it has been said... no news is good news, although the waiting is...well... awful.  I started a new job on Monday so at least I am not at home with nothing to do but wait for the phone to ring or run to the mailbox hoping to find a letter.  I think bootcamp goes both ways... for our recruits it introudces them to an adult world we can not share with them... and for us moms and dads... it sharpens our vision for our kiddos, but also our worry.  I know when my phone rings I drop everything... and run... but each time with disappointment that it is not the call I am hoping for.  I have to remember that the people around me are not in my "Navy" bubble.  This site is the BEST!!!!! everyone is so supporative and informative.  If I did not have this site I am not sure what kind of shape I would be in at this point.

Thank you to everyone here and gone for listening, giving me a shoulder... well writing space, and the kinship it is all mor valuable than most may realize.  :-)
