It is best to try not to guesstimate when calls will come in.  Some never get their 3 week call...it may come earlier or later.  Just have that cell planted on your body at all times...the bra is a good place...because some ladies have missed the call when in the bathroom or after stepping outside to check the mail, etc.  Just know that when that call comes, HAPPY DANCES will be taking place!  :-)

I guess I should have read what you wrote before typing@Wife64, I pretty much said the same thing you did about 3 week call on 4th week because of P-week... my bad, guess I should read it more clearly next time...

@Wife64, that is so wonderful that you got your call, doesn't it just make you feel great!!! also I think the 3 weeks call is really week 4 because the first week is P- week but don't quote me on that, it's just my educated guess. @mountainmama no worries you will get your call, no news is good news, but for peace of mind I really hope you get your call soon.

I believe that the three week call is made during training week #3, not during the third week that they are there.

Also my husband is in one of the very last divisions so while he might still be in P-Days the rest of the divisions might be training by now.

Wife64 - Congratulations!  That is sooo exciting! I'm happy for you but also envious.  I would give almost anything to hear from my son right now.  I can't wait for the phone call.  But if they are still in processing, can I expect my three week call this week?  Or will it be more like five weeks?  Anyone have an educated guess?

Guess what ladies?!?!?! I got a phone call! I am so ecstatic to have heard from him. He said he's doing great and actually having a lot of fun. I asked him if he was lying to make me feel better (haha) and he said that he wasn't and that quite a few of the guys were having fun there too. He also said there is less yelling than he expected.

He said that they have received their mail and have had tons of time to write back too (he has had the opportunity to write 6 letters already).

He said his division still hasn't completed P-Days. I was very confused by what he said. He said that they were doing some things that were normal week 1 things but they weren't through processing yet. He said they learned about weapon safety and some Navy history and some other classroom stuff. But then he also said that they haven't taken down the direct deposit info for our bank account yet so surely they can't be through P-Days if that hasn't been accomplished, right? Arwen, help me figure this out! lol.

I hope that others get to hear from their recruits today as well.

Happy 2011!

Happy New Year to everyone!

NavyWife:  They also have very limited space to store all of those pictures....so, yes, as Wife64 said, better to print out lots of piks on a piece of paper and enclose it with your letter.

Happy New Year Everyone. I am in the Central European Time Zone. It has been New Years here for 10 1/2 hours already. Spent a very quiet night at home with hubby and the other kiddos. My youngest (8) tried to stay up until midnight and fell asleep just before. We woke her up for the fireworks though. Here in Europe they do fireworks like you have never seen on New Years. You can see them in every direction you turn and they go on forever!! I will miss that when we head back to the US this summer. I have a feeling my SR will end up stationed over here just as we are heading back. That will drive me nuts!
