Arwen, my daughter is in div 913. She will be a Nuke. Not in band, choir, rifle, flags or anything like that? From your post I'm kinda confused about her being in that division.

Hey everyone, my name is Hailey.  My boyfriend of three years just left last Tuesday for Great Lakes.  Yesterday I received his PIR information in the mail!! it was great to finally get something from him! He is Ship 09 Div 077 - PIR 02/18/11.  Does anyone know if everyone on the access list get PIR information or if I will be the only one?

Lynne, my son will be leaving on Aug. 10th 2011 for bc. He will then be going to A school in Pensacola for AE school. Same as your son. Nice to meet you. I'm a former Navy wife. My husband is a veteran. We were in enlisted for 6 yrs. Our older daughter is at bc right now. She will be a nuke. Our kids are following in his foot steps.

Hi all, my name is Lynne and I am one of the seasoned moms who will be dropping by to answer questions along with Jessica, Arwen, Lala and Dianne. Although, let me say I am the newbie of the bunch. My son PIR'd in November. He is currently in Pensacola, having the time of his life I might add because he is on hold for classes. His rate is AE, which is Aviation Electronics. He told me he would be starting classes nine days after arriving at Pensacola, and I said according to navy for moms it would be more like after Christmas....guess who was right...yeppers...the old navy for moms network. I tell you this so you know that you will probably know as much or more than your recruit by the time you graduate from boot camp.

Oh you didn't think it was just your recruit that was going to boot camp did you. Well, sorry I have news for you, when your recruit signed up, so did you. In your time here, you will earn your Navy stripes: proud and strong. In this room you will get to know many people, you will worry together, cry together, get angry together, and even laugh together, but most importantly you will become part of the Navy family. You and your recruit will grow and change. It won't be easy, but it will be amazing.

In the next couple days I will be adding some things to your site like how to order a blue star flag and what the navy says about how to display it, some questionaires and my commandments about how NOT to get your recruits in trouble at boot camp. I am sure none of you want to be responsible for your recruit getting "beat" at boot camp. Don't panic...a beating...is simply extra physical training...but they don't like it...lol! RDCs can and DO read these sites so we have to take some steps to insure that nothing we do cause our recruits to get in trouble

Good Morning -- got my letter yesterday and it was so good to have something - my son is in Ship 4, Div 805 - anyone else out there in the same division and has a group been started?

Hi, everyone.  Another veteran, like Jessica, Arwen, and Lala, joining to help with anything I can.  Any questions, please ask and one of us will be glad to help!

gonavy:  I think you may have meant that you have NOT received the form letter or box yet...but don't worry...it's coming!  Box should be there this week...form letter shortly behind that...although sometimes people get them close to the same time or the letter first. The info on the form letter will confirm his PIR date/ship/div numbers.  Welcome!

I do believe this will be my son's PIR date too!!  He left on 12/13/10 for MEPS and arrived at boot on 12-14.  I have received his form letter or his box yet.  His recruiter gave us his info as ship 03 , div 080.  I hope this info is correct.  Miss him terrible!!!

This may be my sons PIR date! Still waiting on the letter! He left on the 15th so should be anytime!

Comment by Sherri(Ship09 div078) on December 21, 2010 at 7:20am

Hi! I hope you all don't mind but I am going to hang out here until I actually get my letter.  Keep thinking it will be today but... you know how that goes.  My son left on Dec 14 so chances are his PIR is either the 11th or 18th.  Will just figure it will take longer than I think given it's the Navy.

Husband is former Navy stationed in both Norfolk VA and San Diego CA.  I was also the Ombudsman of the ship in SD for 3 years.  I SHOULD know the drill but apparently it's all different when it's your son.  Hopefully once I get something telling me he's ok I can even out and get back into routine.  I am sure he IS ok... but still need to hear/see it :)

Nice to meet you all!
