My sailor finally made it home for leave after graduating his A school. What a huge change in him! No longer the at times sullen teenager but a full grown man. I do have to say though it only took him about 4 days to leave his dirty socks on the living room floor! lol
Leaves on the 18th and then will head to Italy. Hopefully we will get to visit him next year. He's not excited or anything... just keeps telling us what time it is in Naples!
Hope everyone is doing well and are as pleased with the changes in their sons and daughters as we are with ours!
Hello friends! I hope everyone on the east coast is doing well in spite of the hurricane. I was sweating it out early in the week, when it looked like it might hit South Carolina where my sailor is stationed. I was relieved for him when it moved northward, but concerned for everyone else. My prayers are going out for all those affected.
Italy! How exciting Sherri!
Mountain Mama, enjoy your sailor. Time together is too precious not to enjoy
Daysleeper- You have to wait until next year to see your sailor? That will be one happy reunion! You will just have to make SURE you have the week off- maybe something will change that in the meantime...
My son arrived in Oceana/Virginia Beach about a week ago for C School. I guess this will be his permanent duty station. He is thinking his squadron (VFA-211/ Fighting Checkmates) will be assigned to the Enterprise, but he's not sure. It will be about 4 months before he's done with school. Said he saw a guy from his brother division (082) from Great Lakes, but wasn't able to talk to him. Hoping to catch him another time.
Nice catching up!
Been a while since I've posted and it's nice to catch up with you all! I think about everyone every time I see my pink scarf in the closet!
My sailor is almost done with school finally. Long 7 months! He'll get to come home for about 3 weeks at the beginning of next month before he heads off to his first duty station in.... ITALY! Can't even tell you all how excited he is. Amazing to think of all the changes in him over the course of the last 12 months.
Hope everyone is doing well and they have gotten to spend time with their sons and daughters!
Hi all PIR 2-18 Ladies!! My son is doing very well in his school (CTN) and looks forward to graduation in about 6-8 weeks! My family is soooo looking forward to him to come home on leave! Happy 4th of July everyone!
Happy 4th of July to all my PIR 2-18 Navy moms! A year ago, we were all probably sharing our holiday with our sailors and in the back of our minds, wondering where in the world (literally) they would be on this 4th. It was a long, long winter without them but we made it through and today, on this Independance Day I am sooooo proud that my son is a part of the greatest military force on the face of the earth and keeping this country free. I am sure you all feel the same. My heart felt thanks to all those have served, are now serving and to their families for their sacrifices. Love you all!
