Hi ALL --so glad to see that some of us are still on this site! My son is at Pensacola CTN school until Sep. He is REALLY busy with the difficult schedual that this school demands. I do get to talk with him at least once a week and that is great, I can't wait to see him when he finishs school and before the next duty station.

I love the phone calls but I also miss the letters that we all got when they were in boot camp. Those were and are very sepcial to me-------

Happy Easter!!

It seems like yesterday, when we were all counting down for Graduation date 02-18-2011...we have been thrue a lot since that date. My sailor, just  "Drill out" yesterday, he keeps in touch with his Shipmates from Gl....he is going to apply for Leave, so he can come home....so proud of this team of 02-18!!! A lot of us built relationships for life and im so happy for it...I really hope we all stay in contact and keep posting about the progress of our sailors and us.

Miss you all, tons of hugs,

maria M

Well, in spite of major flight delays and a mini nervous breakdown, I finally got home with my son after 3 am (it was supposed to be 9:30).  Then they lost his seabag and luggage.  But hey, he's here and I'm the happiest woman in the world!  I hope these are the slowest two weeks of my life.

I'm up at Great Lakes this weekend visiting my sailor for Easter.  She was able to get leave for the whole weekend with no duty so she can stay in the hotel with us.  Its seems just like old times on vacation with the whole family.  Everyone have a great Easter weekend.

Yeah! I pick my sailor up from the airport tomorrow night!  I get him for two whole weeks, and then I get to drive him to his duty station in South Carolina.  Yes, I am excited!

I was cleaning his room today and I found notebook paper where he had written out each one of his general orders 100x before leaving for bootcamp.  It's only been four and a half months, but it feels like four and a half years since he's been home.  What a journey this has been ladies. I couldn't have done it without all of you!

Hi Everyone! My son is in Pensacola. His school is a combined A and C school. I think they call it JCAC or something like that. It lasts 6 months. His rate is CTN. He says he's never worked so hard for anything in his life. Between PT, watch, school and homework he's getting about 6 hours of sleep at night at best. Not sure how your brain is supposed to operate on that but he seems to be hanging in there. He can't take leave until school is over which is sometime in September. He said he may just wait until the holidays. That will make it a year since he left home. I sure do miss him and may go visit in Pensacola but his schedule is so demanding I don't want to disrupt his studies. Oh well, he's happy and making a wonderful future for himself and that's what it's all about. Great to see familiar names and faces on here! :-)
