For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Natalie, Aaron was selected for the Sta-21 officer program, he is going to get his nuclear engineering degree. He has 3 yrs to get his degree, has to go year around. this past semester he took 2 calculus classes and a physics with calc class.... tough courses for his first tiem in college... his highschool math teacher posted a comment on facebook stating "I bet you are doing your homework now....." darn kid didn't do homework during highschool..... After he finishes college he will go back through the nuke pipeline again, this time as an officer. Great program and opportunity for him!

Oh congratulations Sharon! I'm still checking in occassionally - love to stay up on what is happening. Now that Aaron is in school I feel a little out of touch - kind of in an different status than most folks. Aaron just completed his first semester at Oregon State - He did well! I got to go visit him last month for a bit - and he will be here for a quick visit this weekend - so nice to be fairly close! How is Catie doing? Liking the Navy?

yes we are excited to have him closer! He got pick from a list of colleges - not very many have nuclear engineering, but he got his first choice at least!

Hi Jill! how exciting for Ron! Aaron will be going to Oregon State University - He is currently at Rhode Island also - he said he has talked to Ron - they are in different programs though. Aaron's program is an 8 week program called NSI. He will be done April 15 then he starts College summer session. It will be nice having him closer to home - he will be a 9 hour drive away.
Im already saving up for round 2 of power school graduation :) Will Ron be sticking with nuclear or is he going in a different direction?

Hi Sharon! wow! round 2 coming up....the Nuke moms group is a pretty active group - I recommend going to the power school graduation if you can. We stayed at the Villa's - your son will have to make the reservations for you - they go fast though. They are close by and they are apartment like places.
Sounds like Catie is doing well! I'm glad she is enjoying it still. I bet she will have an interesting career!

Well folks, its 2 years today that Aaron left for Boot camp. Hard to believe! What a journey he as been on so far. Aaron is in the last phase of the Nuke Pipeline, currently in Ballston spa NY. He moved there from Charleston S.C. last April. He has enjoyed seeing the sites and is still liking the Navy. He is getting ready for the next part of his journey, which will be college. He was selected for the enlisted to officer sta-21 program! He will now get to go to college and get a nuclear engineering degree. He then will go back through the same Nuke pipeline he is just finishing up with, but on the officer side. It will be another 5 yrs before he actually gets to a boat!
I’d love to hear how your sailors are doing, I hope everyone is well!

hi Val! I hope you had a great Christmas and enjoyed your visiting! a New Grandbaby! congrats! so much fun :) we had a good visit with Aaron, I hate to send him back on Friday.... oh well, I will get to see him again in 3 months. Have a happy New Years!

Merry Christmas everyone! Can you believe it has almost been a year since our Sailors started BC? I hope everyone is doing well. Aaron is still in SC - in the 2nd phase of his schooling - power school. He should graduate in March, we are going for that ceramony! He will then start 6 months of Prototype school. That will either be there or in New York. The schooling is tough, but he seems to be enjoying it. He is hoping to be picked up for the STA-21 program and go to college for Nuclear engineering - its pretty competive though we will have to see what happens there. Aaron gets to come home for Christmas, I'm so excited! he will be here in a couple of days and stay for 2 weeks!
How are your sailors doing? Where is everyone? I have been thinking of everyone - miss our updates!
