It is a small Navy world lol, My sailors also live at VB, They can walk to the beach from their apartment. I am planning a trip now for Spring Break and I am hoping for a nice warm sunny week while I am there :-D

Joke: The Atheist and the Sailor

A United States Sailor was attending some college courses between assignments. He had completed missions in Iraq and Afghanistan. One of the courses had a professor who was a vowed atheist and a member of the ACLU.

One day the professor shocked the class when he came in. He looked to the ceiling and flatly stated, "God, if you are real, then I want you to knock me off this platform. I'll give you exactly 15 minutes."

The lecture room fell silent. You could hear a pin drop. Ten minutes went by and the professor proclaimed, "Here I am God. I'm still waiting." It got down to the last couple of minutes when the Sailor got out of his chair, went up to the professor, and cold-cocked him; knocking him off the platform. The professor was out cold.

The Sailor went back to his seat and sat there, silently. The other students were shocked and stunned and sat there looking on in silence.

The professor eventually came to, noticeably shaken, looked at the Sailor and asked, "What the hell is the matter with you? Why did you do that?"  The Sailor calmly replied, "God was too busy today protecting America’s soldiers who are protecting your right to say stupid *@#$ and act like an *&%#$. So, He sent me."

Please don't be offended by my joke, it is just a joke, you may copy and change it if you want.

God is so good! Just found out one of my new friends on N4M's goes to my church! That is so fun!  Her sailor is overseas already, so don't forgo looking into other groups that might catch your interests. You might find a new friend that lives around the corner from you... you just have never met them.  Mailed more letters to my boy today. Sent him some jokes!

TexasSailorMom:  I had always heard you could order the piks at the NEX after PIR...although you can write to your SR and ask that the/she order (Pkg A ordered by your SR will include the Keel(yearbook) for free---Keel is not free if you order Pkg A after PIR).  Read Jessica's discussion above  (hit "View All" and go to last page) called photo/keel/dvd.  If you still need answers, I would contact Jerrold at the email address I posted below.

For those not going to PIR who would like to make sure they get the PIR DVD that 2Girls4Navy mentioned, here is the email where you can find out...you may be able to order it directly from them if your SR didn't:

Jerrold_Klinkosh@nexweb.org

He is the contact for photos and DVD.

omg are you serious? My daughter is with the VFA-37 Fighter squadron who just happens to be attached to the Harry S. Truman :-D She missed this latest deployment because her squadron didn't go. She is an AO and she and her hubby just moved into an apartment.

Awe, I'm sorry I didn't mean to make it worse. I bet it is very hard to have 2 daughters gone at the same time. I miss my daughter so much. Talking to her a lot more now that she is finished with boot and school but it is just not the same as having her living here at home. She is a newly wed and she called me tonight so I could explain how to cook her favorite meal lol. She is a work in progress lol. Where is your sailor/daughter stationed?

Also, something I did when my sailor was at bootcamp. Write an extra letter of encouragement and send it with a letter to your sailor and tell him/her to give it to a sailor who is not getting any mail. It is sad how many are there and have no one writing them or for them to write to. I even got letters back and then began to write those sailors a few times a week and I got to meet them at PIR and they hung out with us at the mall. It was awesome. It felt like I had 3 daughters graduating that day.
