I pray you all get letters today...the weight lifted off me is better than i thought...I dont think anyone but us going through this know how hard this really is..
If you send them off o college you get to call them when you want...this is 20+ days of NO contact....and as parent you job is to know how your kids are and what they are doing...and when that taken away for a bit...IT DRIVES YOU CRAZY!

All the kids are in my prayers everyday!!!

Congrats on the letter. I'm glad she is adjusting well. Now I just have to get through the next three hours of work to get home and check the mailbox.

Daughter ship 13 div 159....I GOT A LETTER FINALLY! Let me share it with you all and hope it helps a lil and you should be getting yours soon the date on the letter was 07 mar 10. So it got here quick!

Mom,
I miss you guys so much. Its getting a little easier. The first week was really hard because we had to wait for the rest of the division to show up, so we sat in our compartment and studied for a week. We were not that busy so I had alot of time to think about hom. ITS NOT AS BAD HERE AS I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE (yeah what i needed to hear) I have met lots of cool people here (THATS YOUR KIDS) But I would still rater be at home. I am in a intragrated division half boys half girls. I was section leader but they took that away and made me ship staff.
We have our first inspection Tuesday and first test on thursday. I am really nervous. Its alot of information to learn in a short time. I dont want to be set back but I am trying hard.
***then lots of miss you..how my bf, cat...
The first week here I questioned myself if i did the right thing and If this was what I really wanted. But as soon as I put on this uniform it was all smiles. Its pretty cool to get up every morning and put on a uniform.
THEN ALL THE LOVE YOU MISS YOU WHATS HAPPENING AT HOME..

But it what I longed to hear...I can take a breath now...I have been holding it for 22 days and I can breath now!!
I am so proud of her.... OK GO CHECK YOUR MAIL AND LET US KNOW!!!

Big Mike's Mom, I think he will like it. I was a young BM3 in the Coast Guard during my time there. My folks were in Jersey and I could drive home on the weekends I was off.

I agree that we should think positive and that no news is good news, but as we all know it isn't easy. Hank, I hope when he gets to Groton it is everything he is hoping for, the good thing for me is that it isn't so far from home.
