I received my I am SAILOR call yesterday!!!  It was great to hear so much pride in his voice!  I am truly thankful for all the friendships I have made on this site!  I had many dark days in the beginning and all of you (if you know it or not) helped me through it!

But I am afraid I will be on this site again real soon... since my sons ship IS deployed, so the end of May- I will be a hot mess again!

Thank you ladies and I look forward to meeting you all Real, Real soon!!!!

3heath:  You have a great attitude. Keep that up. My husband had the same cancer, and went through all the chemo treatment for a year. I know what you are going through.  My husband is now cancer free, going on two years outside of remission. You will be in my prayers. If you need someone to talk to, just contact me.

I think today I am going to make my son a couple of his favorite homemade cookie (no bake). lol  I can't believe tomorrow we will be heading to Great Lakes.  I look forward to meeting everyone at the Meet & Greet.

Ladies have a safe trip.

x3heart- so much for such a lovely young lady to have to go through. You be sure and follow your advice to Freebird. You also stay strong and keep your spirits high and stay positive and never ever give up :-). It sounds like you are a very strong and deeply loving person who has a lot to offer this great big world of ours. I will keep you in my prayers. Now don't worry about those student loans. Call them (or talk to them when they call you, they will call every day lol) tell them the hardship you are having and you can get a deferment with no problem.

Freebird- I am so glad you found your way back to us. I knew all the ladies here could give you the support you needed and I am so excited for you to get those pics. Maybe someone can do a little video clip for you as well. If you have a computer with a webcam download skype, it's free :-) And even if your daughter doesn't have a computer don't worry most new sailors buy one pretty quick when they get to A-school. It is great being able to video chat with your new Sailor. I love it :-) Please let us know when you get the pics we are all excited to hear about it.

@MaryJune & Proudson4son85:  Thank you so much. Its so hard to stay positive and to relax when I still don't know anything. And I will admit it is difficult to be on this site seeing everyone is getting those "sailor" calls. But I've never felt jealousy, I am truly happy for everyone. It just makes me super nervous and then I get discouraged when I go without a call from him. Then his family calls me everyday to see if I have heard from him and those calls make my anxiety rise. I feel like they should know by  now I always call them when he calls me, even though I've only gotten 2 calls. LOL! I always called his mom after I got his letters and let her know what he says. I can only hope and continue to pray that he calls me today and lets me know he passed.
