yes, annamichael.  When we checked into Residence Inn, I asked about the shuttle.  They asked me which one I would like to be on, and wrote my name down.  But no one ever checked the list in the morning that I'm aware of.  I think they do that just to know how many shuttles to order...the hotels call up the number of shuttles they need for that weekend.  Shuttles are really just taxis...but they are minivans and have the special rate when operating as a PIR shuttle ($3/pp each way).

val:  There is a group called WASHINGTON AND OREGON on this site.  You may want to pull it up and check it out.

Congrats, Nadine!

lesleio:  I think arriving at 6:30 will be fine for you.  The visitors center is right inside the front gate.  The gates don't open before 6:30 anyway, so just be in line early if you are driving.  Congrats to your honor grad!

Won't be able to sleep tonight. Will have that phone glued to my side tomorrow waiting for that call!!

Val...I'm in Seattle and Everett is about 45 minutes north and a good size base there. Also close to Bremerton which is a ferry ride away which has a large military presence.  Just shoot me an email if you want any info on the area, I've been in the area since the early 80s :)  My son will be heading to Hawaii following A school in GL.

Just found out from GF of my son that in a letter she got today he will be stationed in Everett, WA.  Anyone know anything about that Naval Base?  I lived in Seattle for two years and I loved it there...the rain gets old but it is beautiful...please let me know if anyone knows anything.  Good luck son and all of the other recruites tonight.  My prayers are with you all...
