Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Comment by Linda on April 17, 2011 at 9:17pm: annamichael - I think any of the divisions that complete battlestations can go to the rec hall (or whatever it is really called) once they pass Battlestations if their RDC takes them. My son's whole division was able to go. My son said that 143/144 & 145/146 were doing Battlestations tonight. They can do 4 at once - on Thurs, 139/140 & 141/142 all went together. I got my phone call around 5 pm on Friday and it was awesome!

Comment by annamichael on April 17, 2011 at 9:02pm: gotcha. So I was just looking online for flight info to Pensacola. I just picked a random Friday - Monday in June to see how much it would be, assuming by then he will be in Phase three. Anyways, I just did it to see how much. Southwest doesn't fly into Pensacola, so I selected Panama City. Can you believe it goes from Raleigh NC to Baltimore then back down to FL? Crazy. Price (there and back) was about 270. Ughhh It's gonna be a longgggg 10 months. :\

Any suggestions/experiences anyone can share?
