In regard to my son finding out his home port....he went in as Seaman Apprentice only benefit of that was he would be able to choose his home port. From the time he went to MEPS and swore in for the last time and shipped out to BC was about 2 months....he just wanted to get in and out to BC only jobs they had available was SA and with that the choice of home port.  I do have to say San Diego was not his first choice so little bummed about that for him but....I am very happy now that he will be close to home. He will stay in GL for a short A School and then go to SD. Other than that I have no clue what else will happen.

FreeBird...you just need to love your daughter and keep moving forward.  She is still young... She will wake up one day and realize that you are an important part of her life, but it may take a while...  My friend has a daughter that was a terror when she was in high school and now they are best friends (after she grew up and realized what all her mom really did for her.)  She'll come around...just be patient and lean on God!

maresis - thank you for the info!

ladies - my SR and I live in NC... FOUR tornadoes tore through here last night. I'm at my parents house. Damage all in subdivision. I'm about to leave to see how my SR's house is. Praying everything is okay and also praying for all the families who lost houses and close ones!

LoveHim:  I'm surprised that they moved him out of the PIR group?  What CDanielle said below is what usually happens.  So I still think he has a chance to be with his PIR group if he can get the swimming done this week.  At least, that is the way it has been for most of them in the year I have been on the site.  Praying for all of these SRs to get their PFAs passed!

Does anyone have someone in Ship 3 Div 145? I was wondering how they are doing-I don't see any posts from their moms.

@LoveHim... my bf didn't pass his swim test either. I got the call on Wednesday and he told me he wouldn't graduate on 4/22, but he will get to take the test again over and over and he could still pass in time for graduation on 4/22. I went on the RTC FB page and they said if they fail swimming or PFT they are moved into the FIT Div where the RDCs work with them to pass the test. The swimming test they can take a few times a day until they pass. Once they pass he will call. If he doesn't pass before 4/22 he will still have to pass swimming but once he does that he won't have a graduation he will be sent straight to A School. So I know how you feel. I was totally devastated and wrecked when he called me and told me. But with the prayers of everyone on this site and your own he will pass in time. I have faith my BF's determination will allow him to pass his swim. I just hope he isn't so stressed out and feeling so pressured that is why he continues to not pass. But I am sure the RDCs are doing all they can to help them pass. I will pray for your BF when I pray for mine also.

my SR's PIR is 4/22, he's going to A school at Great Lakes and his homeport will be Hawaii.  He signed a paper through his recruiter before he left for bootcamp that gave his homeport assignment.

Freebird, Go back to the CALL and just think how proud you thought of her and she was just loving talking to you. Hang on to that high you were on.
