Received a letter today from my SR and she said expect the "I am a sailor call" on Wednesday the 20th.  She is in DIV 147.  Said she is ready to be done and asked me to send her a stick of gum and tape some skilttles to a letter..she really misses candy!  I laughed and almost cried!  She said she has gained 9 pounds which is great because she was thin.  This letter made my day/week...I am so anxious for next week....come on Friday, April 22nd.  Husband is writing a letter now and cut a piece of gum in half to put in the letter.....

Thank you Lala, proud4son85, anna, & dinnep for your encouraging words  and your help. He just sounded so coached when he called I felt like I couldn't ask him anything. The call was so short. Then I had to break the news to his mom. I am really trying to have faith that I get a call tomorrow or Friday with him saying he passed. I am so nervous. And I hate that had to be his first call home. :(  Thank you for your prayers and I am going to be non stop praying that he passes and is still able to graduate on 4/22.

Try web site without the word care package at the end.  You can order by phone but only 9-5PM central time. What is in package on web site is different than what they tell you on the phone message. Take note.

Actually, CDanielle and Lala:  He has up to THURS to pass!  He can pass on Thurs morning, day before PIR, and do Battlestations that night with the next PIR group.  It happens alot.  So dry your tears and start rooting hard for your SR to get there!

Not to be a "Debbie Downer," but if by chance he doesn't pass by next Thurs, he will be kept at RTC until he does pass the swim test---then will do BattleStations.  He then will be sent directly to A School.  They have a certain amount of time to do this...not sure what it is...but know of a sailor who was held 3 weeks before she passed the run...but she DID it...and moved on as a sailor!
