Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

J'smom - I was told to be sure you give them to him in a plain (no emblems or logos) black back pack or duffle - so other Mom's have posted on here where they have found them

Comment by J'smomAME-Norfolk on April 7, 2011 at 9:53pm: does anyone know - I have heard that we can give our SRs their phones and electronics at the airport on there way to Pensacola for A school, but I have also been reading that they have to Phase up- so if he gets his phone but is not allowed use of it during the phase process what happens to it?

He said last friday he was coming back from the dentist for getting two fillings and tripped over a parking block and hurt his right hand. they took him to hospital and no broken bones and no sprain. he was going in for follow up this past monday. I guess no call no problem, It was feeling better by the end of letter. He mentioned Last name starting with V.
