Got a short letter today.  He passed his second test, one more to go.  Then at the very end of the letter he said he had pneumonia and they gave him mucinex and tylenol and took a chest x-ray and said they would get back to him.  He is starting to feel better now.  He said everyone is coughing and he is getting really irritated because nobody covers their mouth.

I really need to stop reading RTC fb page. A parent just posted that he got a call from his SR that he wouldn't be graduating on time because he blew out his knee. I'm getting very anxious about my SR and his hurt leg. I didn't get a letter today or phone call so I'm going with "no news is good news" I'm just worried about his final PFA. I believe it's suppose to be Friday.

I believe they can also be asmoed after battle stations. There were a couple who got in trouble after battlestations and the capping ceremony just a week or 2 ago.I can't remember what for but I think it was for goofing off and I heard they did not have PIR and were asmoed.

thanks, my sailor is staying in GL, so he won't need a backpack.

proud4son:  They can be asmoed anytime before BattleStations.

If your sailor wants to take personal things with him/her to A School, and they are flying out, they need to carry this in a plain black backpack.  You can include cell, laptop, some civilian clothes that they can wear in the hotel room at PIR and then when phased up at A School, etc.  Their seabags and garment bags are packed full, plus you wouldn't want to check these items anyway.

What's up with the backpacks? Did I miss something?

diannep Do you know the latest day a Sr can be Asmoed before their PIR?
