Presentation went great , only one question that I didn't know the real answer to so I made one up! So, why DO they call it boot camp anyway? :) I told them it was because they have to learn how to everything, walk, run, march, with boots on that most have never worn! I think he will get a kick out of the letters. I did write and ask him if maybe he and some others could take a second to write them back.

They can write letters and read letters tuesdays. thursdays and sundays. But they only can mail their letters on Sundays booo. I look forward to thursdays here. Congrats to you all for making it this far. We are going to see boys become men, husbands become more assure of themselves. Be proud ladies. See you all 4-22-11.

meant bn4givn....sorry about that!

bnrgivn: That is so sweet!  They can do either. If they all do the little notes, he can pass them out to his shipmates.  If it is a thick envelope, he will have to open it in front of the RDCs but when they see what it is, I think it would be fine.  Other PIR groups have done this.  So special for the kids to do this and I know the SRs will get a kick out of it!  Maybe ask your son if some of them will jot notes back to the kids, and he can mail them all back to you to share with the class.  Wouldn't they love that?

I just talked to MY son on Sunday and he said that they have been told GL...and he said there was some website that is up-to-date at RTC that they go by.  Wish I'd have paid attention to the name of it.  But, like everyone else, I am still confused and cannot rule out SA just yet.

I have been asked by one of the 1st grade classes at my school to come tell them about my SR and explain a little of what he is doing then they are going to write to him The teacher asked me if it would be better for them to draw one or two pictures and have them all sign them or have each write a little note seperately. What would be the best way to send them if they all wrote since he (YIPEE) doesn't have that much longer there. Can I just put them in a larger envelope and send them?

he was told SA in the beginning and a few weeks in he was told GL.  It makes it difficult to purchase plane tickets...8-/

Our SR is also a hospital corpsman and we r under the understanding she is going to san Antonio.  WISH we could find out for sure sooner rather than later.
