Hello,
We finally made it home 10:30PM yeasterday. I was exhausted and slept until 11:00AM.(Took today off). PIR was AMAZING. Hugging my new Sailor son was very emotional but worth every tear. I am so very proud of the young man he has become. He called this evening and has made it safely to SC.

Lynn, THANK YOU!!!! You are an amazing person and I really enjoyed going through the whole pir experience with you and your husband. Best Wishes to you and your family.

I love reading the posts of how everyone's weekend went with their new Sailor.
God Bless Everyone!

I think so navynana. Scarlett says that the navy is gender neutral. 8))

Juli, she sent me a picture of the baggage claim in Meridian airport. It was a single stainless steel counter. LOL
I might have seen your son in the USO on Saturday.

Okay. Whoever posted that video..I didn't make it two seconds before I was bawling. Made me think of last Friday when we got to see and hold our Sailors. Glad that everyone has made it home safely. Please keep us posted on how your Sailors are doing.

Hello All,

Just checking in from California. Got home late last night and like the rest of you had quite an experience at PIR. It was great to meet those of you at M & G. that was fun! We were fortunate to have full liberty for the weekend. So unexpected. What luck. He will be at A School in GL and is getting settled in and all is going well. We managed to do all the things on his wish list. Buy a laptop, music, Chicago Pizza and Hot Dog, take the train into Chicago and see the Sear tower, eat hot wings at Hard Rock and see a movie. We had dinner at the Outback with one of his buddies in 164 along with his family so that was nice. We were wondering what happened to the guy who left home in February with T shirt and jeans? A gentlemen has surfaced. He looked so good and is happy about what he is doing next. What a change. The best thing for us was to just be with him. Many tears when we had to say goodbye but it's nice to be in contact by cell phone. OMG - my phone is ringing....it's him. Is this great or what? after agonizing days during boorcamp, this is a relief. All is well in GL today so he says. I guess they are being processed this week and he has some down time.

I wanted to extend my thanks to all of you for taking this journey with me. It certainly is a life changing experience.

Julie: What can I say? you are amazing and look forward to being able to chat. It was nice to meet your family and congrats on the engagement.

DeeFL10: You're sense of humor kept us rolling. It was great to meet you and your family and have you as neighbors at the Ramada. Let's talk soon.

Cathy: and the other Mom's for Cedrick. My hat is off to you ladies. Loved meeting you all.

Mikesmom: thanks for noticing the red scarf and coming over. Glad we got to say hello.

Jaime: thanks for the communication and sorry we did not get to meet. Best of luck to you and Manny in GL.

Fishmom: I wanted to meet you but wouldn't have known if you were next to me. You have been such a joy.

Zach's mom: Saw you at a distance, wanted to say hello to a fellow Californian.

Maussie: Is Sailor female for Sailor? Just thougth about that...

To all the rest .......my very best to you and your Sailors. Continued prayers wherever the Navy takes them. Their time shared in basic will always be remembered.

Keep in touch

Susie, I would not stay at Days Inn again. We were woken up every night to loud drunk men at 2. and the hotel did nothing about it.

Is it nice to be able to talk to our sailors when we want. Not when they are directed too.
