My daughter called a long while ago. She called her boyfriend at 1:30 to say she was at the airport and was on her way to Florida. She is on her way. :)

I'm back finely. Our plane was delayed. Wow it took for ever to get home. Bad weather everywhere. The weekend was great. Got to meet all of you and get to spend time with my daughter. Now back to the hum drum life I live.

Hi all. Took awhile for me to get on here. Left GL on Sunday around 1:30 and drove for 15 hours in the rain. Got home around 5:15 am. Monday, unpacked the car, took a shower and went to work! Almost fell asleep at work 3x's, but it was sooo worth it - I'd do it again in a heartbeat! When I got home from work last night, I was in bed by 5:00pm and slept straight thru till 6:00am this morning (I wasn't too tired huh? heh). Anyway...We had a WONDERFUL weekend with our Sailor! Graduation was, as I saw described on here earlier, a WOW. They all looked so awesome and emotions were def. riding high. My only bad moment was upon arrival, opening my suitcase and crying my eyes out because I grabbed the wrong hanger at home & didn't pack my outfit that I bought to wear to PIR. Grabbed hubby and ran to mall to buy a shirt to go with pants I had. Not the best outfit, but it worked ok. Besides, all eyes were on our Sailor's anyway, so it didn't really make a difference in the end! :) Now I have to figure out all this electronic stuff to get pics from my phone, camera, & video onto the computer. Ugh. That's what Brian always did for me. As wonderful as the weekend was (despite the crappy weather), the hard part was leaving. OMG! I didn't expect it to be THAT hard. It was worse than when we drove him to Albany to leave for bootcamp!! Hardest thing I've ever done was walking away. It killed me. I'm crying now thinking about it. If tears make a good facial, I'm set for an entire year!! I'm so proud of Brian though. So grown up and handsome (but still Brian underneath as evidence by his sense of humor all weekend). It was wonderful meeting you at PIR Janiece and Renee!!! Thanks again for all your support too. You both looked wonderful and I was glad I wasn't the only one toting that yellow scarf lol. Not sure what happens now for us. Brian will be going to Groton, CT as far as I know for at least 2 wks. anyway. He was held back at GL for a few days because the sub training doesn't start at Groton until (I believe) around May 1st. Then, he goes to A School, but not sure where yet! UGH. If he gets on attack subs, then it will be at Groton also, but since he wasn't able to keep his cell phone or anything, I haven't heard from him since we left GL Sunday afternoon. Here we go again. All the waiting, uncertainty...I guess I'd better get used to that now that he's officially a USN Sailor huh? Still. Even knowing that doesn't help. hehe. Anyway, gotta go to work. Look forward to reading more about everyone's weekend when I get home! CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL OUR SAILORS FROM ALL THE DIVISIONS ON SHIP 10!!!! And thank you to all the RDC's and EVERYONE who worked with our men/women along the way!! HOO-YAH!!!

lucky: The Meet and Greet is put together by the Ramada, but the ladies in your PIR group are good about doing lots of extras...nametags, scarves, etc. Whatever they want to do to identify everyone and their respective divisions. We missed our Meet and Greet ....sorry we did.

We were sooooo proud of our grandson, Ted. As his mom said, he stood proud and tall. He was very professional in everything he did and was even concerned that what we did included everyone. He chose "How to Train Your Dinosaur" as the movie we saw so his two young cousins would be able to go. I am so proud of him and how far he has come. We were able to stay through Sunday so we took him back to the base and left this morning to drive home. My husband nearly broke down as we watched Ted walk away from the car to go back to his ship. I haven't been able to look at the pictures of him because I knew I would start crying and didn't know when I would stop. I've been weepy all day. Ted told us that today would be another "boot camp" day for him. He leaves Tuesday morning for Charleston. I don't know when we'll be able to talk with him again or get an address to write. He didn't seem to have that information. God bless all of you moms, wifes, grandmoms, and everyone else who loves a Sailor. May God bless and keep our Sailors. I've enjoyed sharing this experience with all of you and appreciate you.
