Cheri: SO SO glad that it all worked out. I could tell the concern you had for your mom...and that was so sweet.
E-mail Jerrold at Jerrold_Klinkosh@nexweb.org and ask if it is too late to order the DVD for 4/23/2010. Maybe it's not? Wouldn't hurt to ask. I had contacted him for a copy of The Keel because my son forgot to order that. Unfortunately, I contacted him about 2 weeks after PIR when I realized my son didn't order it..and it was too late. The DVD is well worth getting if possible. So glad you saw your sailor during the ceremony...we didn't! Had to wait for the DVD but saw him front and center then. Good luck!

Graduation was awesome!! We had a wonderful weekend with our sailor and returned home late last nite. Does anyone have a video recording of the graduation I can get. We didnt have a camcorder and kyle doesnt think we can still buy them. I didnt realize they were available for purchase graduation day. I would be happy to pay any cost incurred for a DVD or even a digital copy if it can be emailed. Any help is greatly appreciated. I really, really would like to have a copy.

Diane: Thanks again for your advice. Im so glad we took the shuttle, it saved us a lot of confusion, and finding our sailor was easy. We actually spotting him about 5 rows back during the ceremony!

wonderful does not describe the experience for me. once i saw the base i stood in amazment at the size and the multitude of training these sailors had to go through to learn how to be a true sailor. to be prepared for anything. i have a new respect for all persons that work with these young men and women to assist them in becoming what and who they need to be to serve our country. my daughter is totally different. she has always been an intelligent young woman willing to take responsibilty for her life working three jobs not attending parties at school because her focus was on becoming the best teacher she could be and wanted to learn as much as she could and of course be a straight A student. watching how she carried herself, spoke, followed all orders without exception, would tell her father and I what was appropriate and explained many of the things she learned down to when and when not to have their covers on. ( i believe that is what the hats are called" i am so proud of her and proud to have a member of the Navel Military. her relationship and how her husband and her communicated was different secondary to what she has learned. i was and still am totally amazed and proud.
now i have to figure out how to get picture from camera to this site. thank all of you for your support and helping her family to have the courage to let go of our little girl and welcome our young woman. a Sailor. now just one question
WHERE WERE ALL THE WHITE SCARFS? HUH? I HAD MINE AND ONLY SAW TWO OTHER WOMEN WITH THEIRS ON. WHAT IS UP WITH THAT? MY DAUGHTER SAID DO YOU HAVE A WHITE SCARF ON AND I SHOWED HER AND SHE WAS OF COURSE YOU DO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL

What a wonderful time!. It was so nice to meet so many of you. Cedrick had watch, so he had to be back at 2:00 P.M. Then we got to see him for an hour from 6:00 - 7:00. I still can't believe that was all the time we got, BUT I would not have missed it for anything! I am jealous ( and happy for you ) of all the time so many of you got to spend with your Sailors. Now I'm counting down the days until June 18.

Juli, Look at you, didn't take you long to get that new picture up. Handsome Sailor. Nice pic of the whole family. So where is he off to now.

I am so happy to hear all the stories about your weekend.

PIR was wonderful. We met Scarlett at the airport at about 9:15 yesterday morning (She was there since 3:00 am.) and because of the bad weather in MS, her flight kept getting delayed. We spent over six hours at the airport with her. She was going to have to wait at Atlanta for an 8 hour layover, but by the time she got there her wait was only an hour. I had prayed for more time to spend with her this weekend. Didn't think it would be in the airport. Maybe I should have been more specific 8)) I'm sure God was chuckling.
Anyway, she was so tired by the time she got on the plane to Atlanta, she slept the whole way, in spite of severe turbulence. When she was disembarking the plane, the attendant asked her if she was okay. She hadn't seen anyone sleep through like that before. God is good.

So, we are having a Fantastic weekend with our son. He got liberty until 9:00 p.m. Sunday night. PIR was moving.

To the RDCs of Division 164, thank you. My son respects you gentlemen and I am thankful and appreciative of all of the hard work and sacrifices that you have made for the welfare of our Sailors and Nation.

To Margie and Gary, great to finally meet you. Keep us posted on Mike and we will get together for lunch whenever you make it up our way.

To Juli, Donovans Mom, great to meet you and congrats on Donovans engagement!! What an exciting weekend!

To Jamie, we saw you but didn't get a chance to meet. Perhaps some weekend we can meet in Waukegan for lunch. The boys plan on going golfing so I know they'll keep in touch.

And to Cedrics family, you are just some really nice folks and we're so glad that we met you!

Now, good luck to everyones Sailors and let's try not to miss our Sailors too much. At least now we get to talk with them. Have a great week everyone and congratulations!!!
