I have not been doing much of anything these last few days but mope and check online. I have read everything on this site since I found it, just about 5 days ago. Why I haven't made the search earlier, I don't know. It would have made his leaving for BC less traumatic. But then again, I have been in denial until we exchanged our goodbye hugs on Monday...
I would love to hear from others whose loved ones share the same ship/div. Mine will go to Nuke school later on and I'm so hungry for more news and info.

yeah, sit and wait is right. When I received the form letter, I was hoping for something more than, "Mom, I can only have 4 guests; ask Grandpa and Grandma if they still want to come." I was like, that's it?? lol.
Great to know someone whose kid is going through the same path in the navy. We'll exchange lots of notes, I'm sure. With the current situation in Japan, these kids sure have a real life situation to discuss. At bootcamp, I wonder how much of these kind of news trickle in.
I just read on Facebook where the same question was asked about SRs going to Pensacola and the U.S. Navy Recruit Training Command responded that those who fly out will do so on Saturday but as to what Liberty they get they said you would have to talk to your recruit. I wouldn't hold to this information but just wanted to share with you what I had heard today...If you are on Facebook check them out they are really helpful.
my son is on ship 03 Div 155 also with graduation date 04/29 if all goews well.
With ya on the finding all this information earlier. Stayed up a few hours last night just thinking a praying for all of the young peoples safety.
I am sure it will get easier on us.
i'm afraid they won't be able to call until next week. I might be wrong but to me it would be ok. Don't think I could stand it if he really is miserable. The letter would be great though.
Is this your sons first time away?
that's funny, that was the big thing I was worried about. making his bed. he sure couldn't do it around here! My son went off to college but only lasted 3 months before coming home. That was 2 yrs ago and he has matured since then. realized he needed to get himself together and find a real job instead of working in a local restaurant. When he came home from college he went to the recruiters office with my husband. It took him this long to get in. Many trips to Raleigh, NC but they never had a job. Then when he finally got in he had to wait 5 months. Long process but we are there!
I am sure it is hard on his sisters. He must have been a great big brother
