OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Quote of the Day
"I think the purpose of life is to be useful, to be responsible, to be honorable, to be compassionate. It is, after all, to matter: to count, to stand for something, to have made some difference that you lived at all."
– Leo Rosten

This was in my inbox as my Quote for the Day.. I thought it was very fitting for the new journey's our Sailors (and us really as we begin a different path with our loved one not home with us) are about to embark upon!

Congratulations! be proud
This is your day to shine
This is your day to stand
in the spotlight of your accomplishments
and receive some well-deserved praise.
It's your day to enjoy
the celebration
and let your family and friends
express their love and congratulations.
Never forget how much you

and how every one of us
believes in and supports you
