Mom of Three, I found this:

Maybe it will help figure out what you need.

You guys are cracking me up!! Of course I'm sitting here doing the exact same things. I have slept with my cell phone (plugged in & charging) since my son left for BC. Didn't sleep much last night, but everytime I thought about my phone I checked the time & to be sure it was working. The land-line phone was on my other side. Both phones are with me everywhere I go today... and I'm not leaving home until he calls! A special thanks to all you N4M families for your prayers!! I'll keep praying for all our sons/daughters, too!

And Deanna: if nothing else, I'm sure he would call collect if needed! They want to talk to us just as much as we want to hear from them!!!

Mom of three, I was wondering the same thing (we're flying into Milwaukee and driving down to Waukegan) I'm going to try to search on the net to see if I can find anything on it. My mom had a good suggestion: pack your change in something easy to grab and find. I'm going to put mine in a snack size ziplock bag. That way you're not digging for it.

I guess a watched phone never rings, but Sarah and I still can't keep our cell phones out of our sight!

Candle is burning and prayers have been requested all around -- I'm sure all our recruits are SAILORS now, but it would be great to hear it from their own mouths!

Can't wait to start reading everyone's posts about their SAILORS successfully completing Battle Stations!! Hang in there, everyone -- ALMOST THERE!!

Hugs all around!

Ok, just like when I was home as a kid, I'm watching Price is Right.. (well, it's playing in the background. I'm too distracted to actually watch!) But, maybe it will bring back that carefree feeling of when I was a kid!! :~) Not quite the same with Drew Carey.. But, .. oh well..

OK is ship 4 Div 809 BS tonight ??? I am confused - regardless , I woke up several times last night praying for the sailors who were having BS during the night. It really helped that my hubby was having a restless night and I could not fall back asleep, so some prayer was in order ! Also, we are flying into O'Hare driving to Wakugen - I wonder how much change we will need for tolls ?

I keep staring at mine too Amayes and keep sliding it open to make sure it's still on. Like somehow in the last 2 minutes it miraculously turned off on it's own!! Geez, I'm a goofball!

It helps to know all of us are sitting together across the country, united in our love for our Sailors and anxiously awaiting to hear them.. and also to know that everyone is praying together to lift up and celebrate our loved ones!!

Great... Now here I go crying .. Geez!! Been so long since I've cried.. I thought I was over it.. Guess PIR is going to find me a hot mess! I'm going to buy some new waterproof mascara after I get my call!

Andy, I know you're right. And he probably has time anyway.. Just the ramblings of a nervous mommy's mind!! I'm so happy for them all that they have this sense of brotherhood and community!

Absolutely don't worry about the calling card. My son & all "brothers" have shared calling cards as needed. My call came at 1 o'clock CMT. And he got to call his dad & brother & best friend as well. So if he has to call a couple numbers to get ahold of you the can do that too. This is a huge accomplishment for our sailors so the want them to be able to share their joy. Good luck everyone and my prayers are with you all and your sailors & recruits. Troys mom aka Tabatha.

Lordy Lordy! I'm dying here - glued to the computer, FB, N4M, MySpace - the cell phone is pinned to me! I keep looking at it - idk why? It should ring - duh! RING RING RING - - I just hate this! I know we aren't sitting together and that the feeling is ahky but I am sure it helps to know that there are others out there with the same feeling! I refuse to leave my couch til I get the call! Like Deanna I took vacation the rest of the week and cancelled a few appts to be sure I was in a place to receive "signal" on my cell - Its obsessive and if it isn't over soon my husband is going admit me LOL :) Hang in ladies!

Deanna....don't worry about the phone card thing. I am 100% positive that someone will have extra time on their card and let him use it. Don't forget they have spent 8 weeks bonding....they're brothers now!
