@ Kanga, great idea. Enjoy the family time. We also had made a welcome home sign. A boat with 3 holes to put a faces thru. Said Welcome home sailor. People at the airport were crying when my daughter and I were crying. He too was in dress whites and was upgraded. (don't they look wonderful all dressed up) It's awesome for them to be treated so well.

My son was home for 2 weeks. He flew out Thurs morning. He called us at 4:30 this morning (sat) it was 8:30 pm in Japan he will be stationed on the USS George Washington. I have the highest respect for this young man of ours. 26 and leaving everything he knows and loves behind. He is a changed man.

Deanna & Lori ! How wonderful for both of you !!! So hoping they will enjoy the area! It had bad name back in ole days "sailors get off grass, etc" but there's soooo much to see & do ! If can get off the base !! Va Bch the tourist trap is really cool.. Water slide in VB and Wmsbrg has Busch Gardens & Water Country along with the historical district ! Happy times ahead for all of you !!! Go Navy! people who tend to hate this area is bcuz they never got a chance to get off the base and enjoy what we have to offer.. It's truly a gr8 place !! been here since 85 and haven't been disappointed ! Bless you !

Willo, nevermind. I went to your page and saw your son's rate. Sounds interesting. My Grandpa was a crytographer in the Army during WWII. He has some awesome stories to tell.

Willo!! Awesome!! Enjoy your visit. You'll have to come back and tell us all about it. Bravo Zulu to your Sailor graduating A school. You may have told me before. But, what is his rate/job? My son will be in school in GL about a year (a little more give or take) before moving to somewhere else for C school (Either Virginia or California)
