I was thinking about doing that to see if I could get it in time. Plus, if they would let me, I am close enough (relatively) to drive over and pick it up! Does it have their DIV Flag on it? How cool!! I can't wait til next week! (hope both of ours sons are feeling better!) Maybe we'll get the "I'm a Sailor" call over Easter weekend. My family will all be hanging out together so that would be really awesome.. How am I foolin? It's going to be AWESOME no matter what time/day I get it!!

RenoNavyMom - it's my recruit that is injured. We heard from him yesterday afternoon and boy is he down. Has been in RCU for 10 days and NO mail. We (DIL and I) write every day and DH writes 3-4 times a week. It's not helping that he was in Div 145 and BS is this week. He's missing his Div and doesn't know when he'll get back to a division.

Jeff, in my son's last letter (dated 3/21) he was SIQ (sick in quarters) with the flu. Said he had woke up Saturday and told his bunkmate he thought he was about to get sick and apparently passed out. Luckily his bunkmate caught him before he hit his head on the bulkhead! He said a ton of the recruits were sick (especially after their 2nd round of immunizations) He said it's basically made it's way around the DIV and he guessed it was finally his turn. They had their fire drill gas/chamber last week and he was concerned he'd get held back if he was still SIQ. But, I didn't get a call .. so.. I'm going with "No News Is Good News"

I haven't ordered my shirt yet. (Was going to get it there at PIR) Did you order yours online? Hadn't thought about what I'd wear next Thursday. We're flying that day so will be something comfortable!!

My son is Ship 06 Div 921.. Still no clue when his BS is.. Will update if I hear anything. Good Luck to all of our recruits!! < keeping them close to my heart >

I'm sure it all spreads like wildfire...he said he was one of the last to get it so I hope he finds the strength to get thru BS. Thanks for your comments, I'll put your son's in my prayers as well

My son is in 809 and in last weeks letter he said they are all coughing bad. He said the ship sounds like they are in a hospital ward at night.

heard from my son in Div 808 and he is horribly sick, anyone else heard how their sailors are doing health wise? Also, At the Ramada meet and greet, anyone planning on wearing their sailors division sporstwear shirt. They have their division on them but didnt know if this was strictly for the sailors or ok for parents?

Thanks for the explanations! Hopefully, I will get another letter this week. I missed his call last week but his dad got to talk to him, so all is good. He sounds like he is having success with his testing. Just missing his wife like crazy! Good to hear all the comments from others....

Charlene, my son is also Ship 06/Div 921! Haven't heard anything yet. Will post it to the Battle Stations Disscussion as soon as I do. Can't wait to hear from them! We got a short letter from our son last week (but, nothing the week before) He said they are super busy with everything winding down and also being 900 Div they have practice and PIR's to perform at. I posted a picture of the band from PIR 3/19 if you want to see if you can spot your son (if he's in band and not part of another part of the triple threat of Div 921)
