mardee5, I hate to sound dumb but how do we get the info to you for your spread sheet. I would like to answer them for you. It sounds like a good idea. Let me know. Thanks.

My letter came a day after it normally does, but was longer than normal. He isn't much of a writer. Ann your grandson and my son are in brother divisions. He has about the same schedule. It it hard to keep up as by the time we get a letter, everything the wrote they would be doing they have done. I don't want any calls except the I'm a Sailor Call at this point, although I would love to hear his voice. proudWImom what ship and division is your son in?

Received letter from grandson on Wed (written on the 21st) Had finished weapons training (earned a ribbon for marksmanship) and would be starting fire fighting and gas chamber. Was to have drill inspection on March 22 and a test on 23. He is Ship 13, Div. 151. His dad also got a letter. He was anxious to see everyone on the 9th.

Hey FloridaMom we also did not receive a letter this week but our son had called last weekend and warned us that he probably wouldn't get one out. He said that things were really ramping up for the final push and he wasn't sure he would have time. I still rushed out to the mailbox Weds. just in case but alas no letter. Sounded like things ere going to be very busy and they had a number of big exams and inspections also. We are still sending him letters just about everyday. Just 13 days to go!!!!

Hi everyone. This is Christy (FloridaMom)). I usually get a letter on Thursday from my son, David R. It's Saturday morning and, as of yet, I haven't received one. Has anyone else had a delay this week in receiving a letter?

Clarification about the candle. Basically, I took an electric (Christmas) candle holder and placed a blue bulb in it.

If you don't already know, I am doing a spread sheet for PIR 04/09 so that we can see who is where, where they are going, what they will be doing, etc. That way we can keep up after PIR. I am listing the following:
N4M's name
ship/division
Hometown and state
your first name
whether you have a son/daughter/husband/boyfriend
your recruit's first name
where they are going to A school
what their job will be
Are you attending PIR
Where are you staying
Are you attending Meet and Greet
If you already sent it Thanks - If not please send as soon as possible.
You should be able to copy this message and fill it in and send it to me. Let's hope we get some reward calls so we will know more about BS. Thanks Waterman. I am going to post this on the groups I belong to. Please pass this along, I hope to finish it and post it soon.

strlgrl59's mom said that she works on the scheduling and that BS starts on 04/02 I think. My son is ship 13 div 152 and he said that they did Marlins Pike the week before March 21. From what I understand that has to do with mooring and unmooring the ship etc., I found a video on it. It is ropes, knots, and pretty tense. They also did man overboard. He said they got a 9.0 over all and that the intructor told chief they were a great group. He said the aren't so great in marching and drills. Linda L thanks for the blue candle lightning, what a great idea. I think I will start praying now and not stop until I get the call, but will definitely send up special prayers at that time.
