Linda L.,

What kind of blue candle light do you have? Is it really a candle or some type of light? I get a little scared of candles :).

When my son left for bootcamp, I placed a blue candle light in my window. It has been illuminated since then and continues to glow day and night.

Don't mean to scare anyone, no lives will be lost in training, but all this training will come back if something does happen later and no lives lost then. It is great training and I know all our recruits will do beautifully. Can hardly wait, just think in 2 weeks we will be in GL.

My husband was on the USS Saratoga (aircraft carrier) in 1961 and there was a fire, 13 lives were lost. This BS 21 helps deal with these situations. It would have been nice if they had had the training available today. Lucky no more lives were lost, they were at sea.

Thought I would add some info on BS21:
USS Trayer is a 210 foot Arleigh Burke-class destroyer sinulator that is ready to embark and train more than 40,000 recruits each year as the centerpeice of BS21 at the RTC in the Navy. BS21 began in 1997 as part of a 10 year, $763 million recapitalication of recruit training facilities. The Navy is hoping Trayer and BS21 will now set standards in training by usng the latest in simulation technology--video screens, smell, vibrations and sound effects.BS21 simulator is inside a building.
Siorry this is so long but thought it was interesting. Also there is a video if you will look under Battlestation 21.

Do you think Div. 151 did BS21 practice 152. Grandson said they were starting on fire fighting and gas chamber on Monday the 22.
