Yea!! Got a great phone call today (close to 25 minutes) and both my husband and I got to talk to him. He has a bit of a cold but otherwise sounded great. I guess a lot of them are sick right now with colds. They had had nice weather for a few days and were outside without jackets but today it was snowing fairly hard. Ah yes , spring in the Midwest! This also is the week for more vaccinations and he said they were a bear. Said things were really busy and should be getting busier the next two weeks. They finished firearms/weapons handling and have the "gas" chamber and the final PT test this next week along with the remainder of the classroom stuff and a really big inspection. Said they had individual pictures taken and will be having the divisional pic (DIV 145)taken this week then he'll order them. Fire control is also on the plan soon. They were on week5 day 1 on Friday March 19th. He thought Battlestations were the 7th week and Captain's Cup after that, but wasn't positive on the timing.

He was chosen as a Sectional Leader a little while ago and had forgotten to tell us! Just can't describe how proud we were hearing him sound so positive and strong! He is a grad and go but not sure the specifics yet as far as when he leaves for San Diego and how much time we'll have. He said he'll have more info closer to PIR. Guess the Div. has been doing lots of drilling getting ready for PIR and he said it was kind of cool.

Should be a packed house at PIR since he said there were I think 15 divisions graduating on the 9th! Wow!can't believe it's 19days away. Seems to have gone really fast but he didn't quite agree with me on that one.

Hope others get calls soon!

HI all,
I don't think that anyone should feel down about not getting letters. I know that I have said this before, so forgive me for repeating - so many of us including our soon to be soldiers are not used to writing letters in the age of facebook, email and texting. I know I am not a "writer" and so are many others. Keep in mind that they are working hard and most likely very stressed both mentally and physically and the idea of trying to put feelings into words right now may not be easy. Hang in there, soon they will have a chance to call, talk in person, and possibly email (can they email after bootcamp?). Happy Spring to everyone~

Laura and Willa, my grandson is going to A school in Pensacola. I wonder if that means everyone in A school there no matter what field they are in will be going on Saturday.
