If anyone has extra spaces on their guest list, I would appreciate hearing from you. My grandson will graudate on 4-9 an is carrying a flag. He has listed his father, step-mother, mother and 16 year old sister. Received a letter today, he is doing well, very nice letter explaining everything he has done and he will be in week 4 tomorrow. Thanks for any help.

Hi all! We will be staying at the Ramada Thur - Sat night. Since we only live 2 hours away, we won't leave until Sunday afternoon. Excited about meeting so many new people. Time is getting close. I got a letter from Caleb last night. He misses his music and wants us to bring some with us. He loves music and fortunate for us, we do too! Still sounds like some of them are still sick. Poor things it is tough enough the way it is let alone to be so sick! He said the nights are lonely and very quiet. Sounds like he is doing well and applying himself. I know he is going to be quite different when I see him on April 9th. Not my boy any more, but a man!

Ann- It is my understanding that each recruit is allowed 4 guests. They have to provide names of who they have invited to the "higher ups". I have also heard that if another recruit does not use all 4 guests, then someone else may use the ones left over. Caleb's grandparents will be coming up for the day but know they can't see the actually ceremony. We all plan to get together for lunch. There are 11 divisions graduating the same day. That means it will be crowded! My DIL's graduation only had 6 or 7 divisions and it was packed according to Caleb. Hope this information helps.

TX Bon Bon:

Good for you guys!!! Now you need to make sure that you and your husband be the keeper of the important docs for awhile until your son and his wife get more settled. I remember being a young NAVY wife and being aboslutely clueless about safeguarding that stuff during moves (which were numerous!) . Thank god my NUKE husband even back then was extremely anal retentive....

oh and one is coming here to the house and the other is being sent to him there in GL for his security clearance, yay!!!

TX Bon Bon, I missed something. What's going on with your recruit's birth certificate?
Comment by TexasBonBon on March 17, 2010 at 11:14pm
hey guys! haven't commented on here for a while... working long hours, now I'm back to give an update. we got a call from the office of vital records and the birth certificates are on their way! we included a self addressed, stamped envelope for our recruit in GL and they said they would use it to send one of the BC's directly there! awesome! it has been quite a roller coaster ride for us... I think there is a group called the roller-coaster, perhaps that is where I belong! sooooo looking forward to graduation
