For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!
Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!
Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Wow, Mardee!! WOW!! Hope you have a passport already!! Mom's that have received their PIR DVD already, did your son/daughter order it the day of graduation or prior to? Andrew wasn't able to purchase his pictures and video until the day of PIR because he had been SIQ (sick in quarters) with the flu the day they took their DIV pic and put in their order. I'm just curious because I still haven't gotten mine. :~(
Yesterday was my birthday and I was hoping to have it to take with me to my mom and dad's for dinner so I could share it with everyone. Oh well, maybe it will arrive today. I did set up Skype on Mom's computer and we were able to chat with Andrew for a few minutes so that was probably even better for everyone! My Grandma was so proud to get to see him. He was wearing his NWU's but, showed us his dress whites and blues since he just had his stripes sewn on them at the NEX!!
Hope everyone is doing well. Miss chatting with you guys. Can't believe it's already been more then a month since we were all in GL for PIR sitting on pins and needles at the Ramada Thursday night!!

He got his orders...He is going to Japan. He is so excited he can't stand himself. He has done really well. Should finish A school on June 4, 2010 then get to come home before he goes back. He said at this point he doesn't know when he will actually leave San Antonio after leave. I am excited for him as he wanted to see the world, it is just that the world is a big place and he will be far away.

Ah... < loving, supportive Mom hugs > I understand completely. Andrew is still on the Enterprise. Said he might just end up staying there. (if not, he'll go to the Cole or the Franklin) He started ATT school today!
