Lori, what is your son's Rate (job)? Andrew is FC. Also, what internet did you guys go with for his room? We set Andrew up with Cricket. (no contracts, no extra charges) $40.00 a month.

Lori, yes, he's on hold (still on the Enterprise) at GL. He called last night to say he could have classed up today and started A school. BUT, (there's alwaya but huh?) he's in his last day of a mandatory class called P.R.E.V.E.N.T. so they won't let him class up. He's hoping he'll end up on the list again in the next two weeks. But, officially, it's still 2 months!!

I didn't get to go get a camera for my computer last weekend. Maybe I'll do that later today or tomorrow. I've been really missing him the last few days. I'd love to see his face!

Deb, I know what you mean. Been feeling the same way this week. Can't wait to get back up there to spend a weekend with him again. Hoping to go in June. My hubby offered to send me next month for my birthday, but, our other son is graduating high school next month, and so much going on. Guess I can TRY to wait until June!!

hi to all just checking in feeling a little melancholy today :( and missing my son so guess that how I ended up here huh ? Changed the pic so please see my handsome sailor ! Haven't heard from him this week but he is at GL waiting for A school to start and going to the mall on the weekends for food and movies !
I am still a little overwhelmed by the whole experience. I had a really great time that weekend and can't wait till I see him again.

I'm still here. (following via email when someone posts here.) Hope you are all doing well and having a great weekend. Andrew got his internet set up so he can have internet in his barracks. That will be nice. Now, I just need to go buy myself a camera so we can use skype. Most days are pretty easy since we talk almost every day (he's on hold for 2 months waiting for A school) but, some days.. I still miss him like crazy and just wanna hug him!

Aw it is so sad that everyone is going away. I have been so busy I have not had time to get on here and when I did, everyone has gone to other places. Thought I would post for in case anyone else is checking here. I hope all of your sailors are doing great. I miss all my friends and the support. It seems like such a long time ago that I arrived here. I know I will continue to check back to see how everyone is. Hopefully others will too. I guess our lives, like our sailors are changing. They made the decision and all we can do is hang on for the ride. Miss you girls

Andy, I'm not even trying to be humble.. when it comes to our Sailors! I give up!! I'm just too darn proud!!

Good luck to your son. Mine is still there in GL on hold (probably for 2 months) waiting for A school.

My son is in Goose Creek, but hasn't started classes yet. I think they start in about a week and a half. We sent him his electronics, but don't really expect him to receive them for a week or so due to the processing there. Have heard from him a couple of times, tho, which was great. LOVED PIR w/e! It went by way too fast! Every sailor there seemed so squared away.....a wonderful looking bunch! Good luck to everyone and their sailors.....we all have a loved one to be SO proud of....it's hard to be humble, right?

Hi all,

For anyone with a sailor at Meridian, Mississippi there are 2 discussion boards which are pretty active and supportive with information. Sadly, didn't make it to the meet and greet but it looks like you all had a wonderful time. Maybe we can create an alumni for PIR 4/9/2010 so everyone can keep up to date as we travel on this journey, who knows when our sailors paths will cross again.
