Thanks for taking the time to look into that Mel. Hey Erica, I'm with you-looking for that first letter. I've been sending one every day since I've gotten the address. Wonder if he just gets a pile at once. He gets to spend Sunday with us too, no?
My mail comes at 3:30 and I'm on the East coast, so I still have a couple hours hope for a letter today. In the meantime, guess i'll just keep writing away. So hard wondering what's going on, how they're doing, are they adjusting ok, etc.

I really hope we get a letter today! That would be so so great! I cannot wait to hear from him! I wondered if they would have let them write their first Sunday! Do you think they have gotten any of our letters yet? I started mailing them out as soon as I got the form letter last Saturday! Also I have heard that they will still be in their dress blues in April that they don't switch to the dress whites until May. Does anyone from 808 know how much liberty they will have that weekend? I know they will stay in Chicago but before he left his recriter had told him he would only get off during the day that Saturday but I am praying for more time!! I miss him!! Also when do they usually get their first leave to come home? If anyone gets a letter today be sure to let us know!! I am really hoping for one! :)

Mel, if they graduate in April-is that in dress blues or whites? thought you might know having travelled the road once already

I was told by a few people "they went to Great Lakes boot camp" and they were both able to get home for a week....I am hoping Terah gets to come home I guess it all depends when A school starts? She is going on to Virginia Beach Va. I am hoping that her school does not start right away. I got my tickets a while ago and guessed the right date can hardly wait.

Started making calls about flights today. Told my work I wouldn't be there Thursday or Friday - it's a long flight from CA. His sisters also want to go - one has to ask her boss since she's on vacation (the boss) and my daughter was suppose to cover her patients (genetic counselor), but I have a feeling, due to the circumstance, something will be worked out. D loves "family reunions" as he call them. Our other son can't come though - his wife is expecting their first child on the 16th and we all said he'd better stay close to home - we'll take pictures! I'm getting pretty excited. Hope it doesn't get delayed.

Thanks JessicaB-Sailor Mom for the info, I will do that. I bought a tons of encouraging or funny cards to send him daily and like the idea about sending jokes too. This site is a blessing to all of us mothers losing our minds wondering what the heck is going on. Have a great night!

Love the countdown as well! Very nice! My son is also ship 3, div 147. Just received his box and form letter. Did not see anything about Grad & Go, but he is going to Missouri after BC. Watched a graduation ceremony on youtube and just cried and it wasn't even my child. I imagine it will definitely be an emotional day no matter how long or short our visit. His comments were very reassuring and he is my independent child, so while I know he loves and misses us, I do not believe I will need to worry about him being homesick, ha! I feel, as others have expressed, incredible pride! Thanks for everyone's input. It's nice to read.
