I was also wondering what ship staff is, My husband aced his swim test and the other PT stuff also. Anyone know what ship staff really is? my hubby said they have to keep log books and know when recruits come and go and they work along side of officers. Is this correct? maybe I'm just not reading his writing right lol

I got a phone call too. 36 minutes:) It was so good to hear his voice. He said he loves the petty officers have been pretty cool. My bf is a squad leader and he said that a lot of the guys don't listen and think they run everything. My boyfriend aced his swim test, push and sit ups. He said a few didn't pass. I am glad we all got phone calls I just wish april would pass so I can see him

Congrats! Ship staff sounds darn impressive. Finally the silent 180 begins to roar.

Just got my phone call too (div 179) and he said the same thing about the mail, but also said that people are starting to listen better! The petty officers are very nice, and he's happy- just wish he could sleep more.

I got a bunch of letters today. It was amazing. He says their div has some people who aren't doing what they are suppose to do and they get in trouble a lot. They even threw all lat weeks letters out. I think thats wrong but, atleast I got some. I just wanted to let anyone know in 179 that thats why the lack of letters or calls is that they are constantly in trouble. Good luck to everyone and god bless our sailors

Haha I agree with that statement. At first I hated this and just wanted him to come home. But, then I realized how much it was bringing us closer if I ever thought we could get closer than we are. Good luck to you guys:)

Yeah you're lucky :) I've been with my fiance for nearly 4 years and this is our first long stretch of time being apart (he'll be at Great Lakes for A School as well and I live in WA). Boot camp has been rough! And A School will be a challenge too but I'm soooo proud of him and it truly is just making our relationship that much stronger, and for that I appreciate this experience. (Thought I would NEVER be saying that!) I am excited for graduation as well. Can't wait to get my arms on my sailor too :)

excited...hmm THRILLED! lol either way I was 100% supportive and told him to make the decision. If he have the weekend I'll be seeing him every weekend. That sounds amazing, I wish he would graduate already. lol We have been thru so much and I am so ready to see my sailor.
