My sailor hit the one year mark while waiting in DC to get on a flight back to his home base in Jacksonville, FL.  He had leave from 12/29 until 1/11/2011 but couldn't get out of Syracuse, NY to catch his connecting flight in DC that night back to Jacksonville...It was sure great to spend time with him and it's just so hard to believe that it has been a year already since our PIR Group went to Bootcamp.  He is an Airman in the VPU-1 Old Buzzards Squadron and loves it!!  I hope everyone is doing well!!

Thats good to hear Nancy, i know he is enjoying himself. And i'm glad your doing good. Its hard to believe that a year ago we sent our kids off to BC and now they are seeing so many places and becoming adults.

Hi Ladies,

Glad to see all the "recruits" are doing well as sailors! Chris is in Sasebo, Japan assigned to LSD-49 the USS Harpers Ferry. We saw him at the end of September through the first week of October. The ship is currently docked at base - but Chris has already been to the Philippines, Guam, and Singapore as well as Japan! So far he really likes it and has made some great friends. He loved Singapore and is enjoying getting to see different places, meet new people, and experience new cultures!

Hope you all had a great holiday season.

Nancy

Hi Barbara, where is your son going to A-school? You may need to joing a group for his rate,( like I'm on a group called sub school moms) they will help you alot on those groups. My son is in Groton,CT. for sub school, so i couldn't help you unless your son was there.
