The guys really seem to have VERY limited contact to "the outside world". So, I tell Patrick about major events (Haiti), local stuff (lots of snow at low altitudes), stories about what I've been doing (training for a 1/2 marathon), and also jokes if I have any short ones. My husband sends him internet articles about football games. He loves the printed pictures on paper (takes up less room), and says getting mail is the high point of his day! I really can't write every day, but I figure if I can write two good letters a week, that's fine. Also, other family members are writing. His friends? Apparently not at all! They are lost without texting and email. Can't wait until 3/5! I don't know which of us is more anxious for graduation to occur! Anyone out there from So. Cal.? Alexis

oh, also try retailmenot.com and enter the hotel's website. sometimes they have coupon codes from other sources. And it works for flights too, well anything really, if anyone has yet to get tickets. United has a 5% code right now.

I type the bulk of his letters so often I have copied and pasted funny emails, articles on line out of our local newspaper, news items that come up on my internet homepage and Scripture. Sometimes I go to the Navy website and let him know what the Navy is doing these days. I often run it like a journal. Type on it when I am having my morning coffee, then come back to it later. I also cut and paste pics into a collage (legal size letter envelope) and send that as well. He keeps asking for pics. I am feeling like a tourist in my own house these days carrying my camera everywhere so I can send him pics! My friends are beginning to think I am a fruitcake:)

My boyfriend asked the same thing and I was at a complete loss! Thankfully, not a whole lot is going on in the world. I told him about Haiti and the internet sensation "Pants on the Ground" and the new Apple IPad. Just basically what everyone around me is talking about lately.

She is in her 5th week already, I'm glad time is going by fast. I heard something about a meet and greet for our PIR divisions. We may not get there till late on the 4th.
