He can offer you his left arm and you can link your arm with it as long as his right arm is free. PDA is holding hands, kissing, hugging and things like that. There were a couple of ppl in my hubby's div who got in trouble for PDA because they were walking in the mall holding hands.. There are eyes EVERYWHERE..

Hi everyone :) My husband PIR'd last Friday and I just wanted to drop by and offer some advice.. I know how excited you all are.. Okay, so here's my advice: If at all possible, get some binoculars! It is so so so hard to spot your sailor in that sea of white uniforms, binoculars will help. Also, sit in the middle rows of the bleachers if at all possible, as they offer the best view. If your sailor is in the middle/back rows, you will not be able to see them if you sit in the front rows and you won't be able to see too much of anything if you sit in the very top rows. Also, bring money for knick nacks.. They sell dixie cups (the white hats) with recruit training command printed on them and i think they sell teddy bears also, and they also sell drinks and things like that before the PIR ceremony. You can also buy division photos at the NEX after the ceremony, just in case your sailor didn't order enough pics to satisfy everyone. Wear comfortable shoes!!! It is quite a walk from the gate area to the graduation hall. Be prepared for your sailor to not want to do anything lol. I had the trip all planned out with all the things we were going to do.. Psh, all Chucky the Sailor Man wanted to do was lay in a real bed and watch TV. Be prepared to sit in traffic in Chicago. We were supposed to be through Chicago by 3 o'clock, but there was a bunch of construction on the way there and traffic was horrid in Gary, IN so we got to chicago DURING RUSH HOUR and sat in traffic for like two hours! LOL. And those people drive like maniacs lol so be prepared! Do not, under any circumstances, take pics out side of the graduation hall. They will take your camera and delete your pics! For all the girlfriends, wives and fiances, I know that you haven't seen your man in 8 - 9 weeks, but please adhere to the rules about PDA.. i mean would you rather hold his hand and get him in trouble and not have him for the rest of the weekend? Eyes are everywhere in GL.. Be prepared for random people to walk up to your sailor and shake their hand and thank em for serving.. LOL this was so odd to me.. it was like walking with a rock star! I can't think of anything else.. umm.. OH! Save yourself money! If you're planning on doing anything that requires tickets (six flags for example) have your sailor buy the tickets from the MWR thingy on base.. it's much much cheaper. My son, my sailor and I went to six flags for 100 dollars.. I'll post a link to the site when i can find it :) Good luck everyone and if you have any questions feel free to ask me :)
