oh sorry didn't mean to sound like that was the only way it happens..lol i just re-read my post...
that was just what he said about his div, but
I'm sure it depends what the RDC wants to do, and how well the recruits are doing in their training can affect that as well, I've heard of letters being held a week as punishment..that wouldn't be very fun
(guess that's not what boot camp is about anyways right)

LA'sMOM(Ship 9, Div 225) I am sure that it could be different for each DIV, but my daughter said that they got their mail everyday. She said that they only had time to read it on Sunday...if I got that correct? Katie would write in her rack after lights out. They send their mail on Sundays.

Thank you annafornavy. Just hearing from other moms really helps. The letter from the dad is great. I will print it and send it to my son. I'm hoping he is just homesick and things will start to get better.

HI LA'sMOM: The questionaire is right about this chat on the discussion form. You can also adjust it to the questions you would ike to ask...I was at my sons recruiters just a few mins ago and I logged into navy for moms and showed him how goofy and nuts us moms are. He said they are alllowed to get cards,. I had sent Dustin cards. He recieved 13 of my cards. but no one else's I dont understand that as my youngest son wrote him and his friends and family.. I know he will get them. Maybe they knew I was the mama and he needed them most.. Also LA'smom there is a letter in the discussion form that I sent my son that a sailor and now dad of sailor wrote. It is AWESOME. I sent it to my son and he loved it. He said it really put alot of things in perspective for him. So I would send him that as well. Tell him to hang in there and that his RDC's once have been where he is and they want to make him into the best Sailor possible that is the only reason they are so tough. My sons DIV is not clicking yet so they are not getting calls until that happens. I am hoping it is soooooon... I want to hear Dustin's voice... Hang in there and whatever we can do to help you and your son feel better we are there for you...

I received my letter yesterday also!! My son sounded very depresssed. How does the mail work there? He said they only get to write on Sundays? Do they only get mail on Sundays also? How do I get a copy of the questionaire that some of you have mentioned?
