Let's help those who are coming to PIR by themselves find each other so that no one is traveling alone from the airport to Great Lakes.

Clandy26, not a problem. Our son is in the preformance group so we shouldn't have any problem picking him out of the crowd.
Roz, good luck with your plans. I really understand your situation. I'm sorry that your family is going to be going different directions. It's so emotional to want to be in two different places for your kids. Take deep breaths and lots of pictures!

We are way behind in planning and I'm sure this has been addressed. I hope I can still get room reservations...suggestions on best places to stay? My daughter's high school graduation is June 5th so we've been trying to figure out what who's doing what and going where. It looks like my husband is staying behind for her grad & I'm meeting relatives in Great Lakes. Time is getting short, so I guess I'd better get busy!

Yahoo! The time is coming soon! We are making a vacation of our trip to Chicago since we probably won't be going back there. Plus, I hear our sailors like to relax more than anything so we will sight-see on Monday and Tuesday if he just wants to hang out at the hotel.

Nope, Ship 6 Div 929 is represented here too! Live wepons qualifications qualifications tomorrow. Half way thru Hell Week. I now also know where the term toe the line comes from. Unfortunatly, the toes haden't hit the line quickly enough. I could tell David that what doesn't kill you makes you stronger but I'm not sure that would be helpful this week! ;-)

Just realized tonight that Thursday (tomorrow) means only 3 weeks until we all get to hug the necks of our recruits-turned-sailors! Wow...these weeks have really flown by! :-)

I am so excited!

Staying in Great Lakes is the best scenario from what I hear. He may need a few hours to check in, but then be released. They do have to stay within 50 miles of the base though. Chicago is within that range with tons of stuff to do!
