Let's help those who are coming to PIR by themselves find each other so that no one is traveling alone from the airport to Great Lakes.

Apparently, a tornado touched down near my son's A School in Great Lakes recently! Coming from CA, that was a new experience for him!

Sobe- I copied the GF/wife prayer and sent it to my son's best friend's girlfriend. My son and his best friend both joined the Navy. I've always liked my "other" son's girlfriend, but we have become closer now that both boys are away at school. She is struggling --- she liked the prayer.

Must share this!
I've been writing to several recruits who don't get mail from home (or from anyone actually), and one of them graduated today, PIR 7/23. My N4M friend who is there for her boyfriends graduation took a picture of my adopted sailor this morning and sent it to my cell phone, with a message from him. THAT MADE MY DAY!!!! I now have a face to put with his name. I then had my grandson take a pic of me on my phone and sent it to my N4M friend, so she could show it to my adopted sailor (Kyle). My poor N4M friend, she wants to visit with her BF, but she takes time out to put me and Kyle together via phone! LIFE IS GOOD - Thank you Lord!

The Prayer below was posted by Missy in PIR 7/23. It's obviously written by a wife or GF, but it works for any of us. This is the best one I've heard in a long time. Prayers out and candles lit for those last divisions doing BS-21 tonight - they graduate on Friday.

Dear Lord, give me the greatness of heart to see
The difference between duty and his love for me.
Give me understanding so that I may know
That when duty calls he must go.
Give me a task to do each day
to fill the time he is away.
And, Lord, when he goes out to sea
Bring him safely home to me.

I think our PIR Group's Chiefs must have been awesome. I'd have to say they did an outstanding job and need recognition for it!!

Sobe,
It took you 'til now to realize that? I knew it about me from the first week of BC!
What fun for you to see you, your husband and your sailor on the DVD!

Okay, it's truly official - I am a N4M addict! I was offline for 2 days because my husband had emergency surgery (all is well now), and the first thing I do is long on to this site! I've been helping future PIR groups and I manage the Grad & Go group, so I'm trying to catch up.

Hope everyone from our PIR group is doing well and that our sailors are all happy. I watched the DVD the other night and was amazed at how much I did not remember from that day - guess I was so anixous to see my son that the whole thing was a blur in my memory. I was taken back to see my husband and I walking out on the floor to see Brandon - it was on the DVD!!! I was 20 ft ahead of my husband, I was determined to get that first hug - but Brandon's GF beat me to it!!!!

Got our DVD, too! OH! Still so cool! My sailor is in Goose Creek and his class just phased up (phase 2.) His A School(Nuke ET) is 6 months long and he's doing great! So good to hear the good stories of all our sailors from PIR 6/4/10!
