Let's help those who are coming to PIR by themselves find each other so that no one is traveling alone from the airport to Great Lakes.

Now when people ask me how he's doing I can say that he's a star in the Navy! ;-)

Yes! Isn't it fun to see them online?

Rebecca, thanks for the Living Flag heads up. My sailor call this evening and told me where he's standing in the flag. I found it on the Chicago Daily Herald. Fun to pass on to the family!

Anyone with a child in A School in Great Lakes - your child is in the Human Flag! Just saw a video clip on the news. It was fun seeing my boy - even though he was in a mass of sailors! I haven't been on the site since returning - just too busy with work and moving into a new house. But, I agree with you all - I MISS HIM! Very weird adjusting to military life. But, I love that we can talk with them more via phone and email!

Yeah, I've gotten distracted from here by having to learn all about the Marines now. But I am going to see James this weekend. His GF bought a plane ticket and when her parents said she couldn't go alone, she bought one for me also. Sooner than I had planned, but it should be a nice little vacation! :-)

WOW - one whole day with no posts????? I guess we have all moved on. Keeping up with some of you on Facebook though and I enjoy that.

I miss all of you N4M stalkers!

My son helped clean up the USS Alabama this weekend too! He finally gave me his address yesterday for Corry Station in Pensacola, it sounded wrong (too simple) but he assured me it was correct. He wants me to ship his X-box to him. I'm debating on that one, I was hoping he wouldn't get caught up in playing videos again - but I guess I can't be "mom" forever - he is 21 now.

Our local paper had an annoucement printed on Thursday, but it didn't include his picture. RTC sent it to them, but I am going to ask if they can re-print it with his photo (I know the editor - wish me luck).

He can't begin his real classes until his security clearance is finished, I guess being an IT requires a very high clearance, so this gentleman has been talking to all our neighbors this past week and again today. Luckily Brandon was always a good kid, so there are no skeltons in his closet - at least not any that his dad and I know of!!!

I called our local paper and they gave me the email address of the lady who handles the Military News section. It's a very small paper and doesn't even print on Mondays, so I'm hoping sometime this we will see it run. If you don't have Skype, you might want to consider getting that. We were able to talk to Jamie (and see him!!) yesterday. They're only allowed the video in certain places on the base so it will be limited but it was great to see him. And only 10 days until we're back up in the Chicagoland for a wedding and the weekend with out Sailor!

TheRightThing - its really good to know that your son is in GC also. We are from the same area, so that will be a good connection for these guys.
My son figured they would start classing up this week; will all of the different dates that they shipped out, we knew nothing would start right away.
I love the 'STD protection class'!! I haven't heard about that, but did hear that there are a lot of good looking women down there. Including on base. I still need to come up with the right 'warnings' about the town girls; good looking or not!

Pam - great idea. I have thought about it. Did you contact his recruiter, or just send your stuff?

I emailed the announcement of Jamie graduating bootcamp to our local paper! Just one of those things we do I guess!
