Hello - I have a son in that same division!

I am so  excited to hear from you! It seems like all the other divisions had so many Mom's! I was beginning to wonder about my daughter. Have you received a phone call yet?

Sandi

I thought the same thing, seems like no one was in this division.  I have not received a call but in the last letter I received my son said he was 95% sure they would get a call on June 6 and to make sure I keep my cell phone with me........as if I don't already!  haha   How is your daughter doing?
No call, but a letter where she seemed very homesick, but positive. Said she was making friends, the food was good, she had passed the swim test, physical fitness was brutal, her hair looks horrible (She had long blond hair they cut), she can only shave her legs on Sunday, something I am sure your son is not worried about! lol and all she wanted was a coke and taco bell. Thank you for the information, I will have phone glued to me that day and of course I have a dentist appt. that day so I am telling the dentist if Chicago calls he better answer it! I can see her first call being to my dentist!
He seemed to be positive as well and said that he really likes everyone in his division.  He also said he passed the swim test and got the running done in the alloted time.  He was really worried about that before he left.  He also told me the story about when they got 6 shots in a matter of 45 seconds and said it was the worst day of his life.....lol.  He said he doesn't think I can understand just how bad the shot in his butt hurt and how it hurt to walk.  HaHa   He said after that they had to walk 2 1/2 miles with 60 lb. packs on their back!  It's nice communicating with someone who has a child in the same division!  How old is your daughter?  My son turned 19 on May 20.  Yes, I really hope they do get to call on that day and if your luck is like mine you will get a call in the middle of your appt!  LOL

That's so funny. I didn't add that in my first post, she also complained about the shots and the 60 pd pack, but she said hers was 3 miles. Ha..I guess she wanted me to feel realllllly bad for her!

Wow, Courtney turned 19, May 6th!

That is funny, maybe in reality they only walked 1 mile!  Hopefully the two of them have become friends, I know before he left Josh said he wanted to make sure and watch out for the girls so that they weren't treated unfairly by any of the guys.........he's always had a big heart!  Can you believe they are in week 4 already?

No I can't! I was thinking week 3, I am thinking I am confused since the weeks are different. When did he leave? I know I have the graduation date right. LOL...I got that in the form letter. Your son sounds wonderful. I thought she would only be with other girls. Knowing her, she is loving having boys in her division!
He left on May 10th and I thought it was 3 too but counted on the calendar last night and they would be starting week 4 now........right?  LOL  He is a good kid and respectful and some of his best friends are girls so I'm sure he's happy about that too!
OK, you are right! That is the day she left!! That makes me fell better. Someone said after week three, it does get easier. I wish it would for us. I just wish I could hear she is OK, everyday!
It seems to be going by faster for me than I thought it would.  I agree, even a quick email or text message would be nice at this point!  LOL  I really hope we get a call soon.  I read that they are doing weapon training this week and they take pictures..........too bad they don't post the pics online like school pictures!  haha  Where does your family live?
My husband is in that division!
