I got a letter from my SR today. He has been sick with bronchitis and an upper respiratory infection (he never had this before) and was SIQ for two days. He said he was finally starting to feel better even though he is still running a fever. His division 282 was taking test #2 the next day (Jul 30th). He said his division was flagging everything. They got all their uniforms back and had their personal inspection last Monday. They took pictures Jul 29th. He said this week was going to be Gas Chamber and Fire Fighting then next week is Battlestations. He did not give me a date yet but since he is in the second division of the training group I guess they will go the first night.

I'm completely miserable. I got a call from my SR about 12:45 today. He got pulled from the Division and is now in RCU. He has stress fractures in both his legs and will need to heal. I don't know much else beyond that. It was only a 6 min 22 sec call. He's upset, I'm upset, he's in pain and I can't do anything about it. He doesn't know how long it'll be. I found out about the stress fracture in the mail last night, but didn't know what was going on. He's been on LLD for about a week and a half or so now. He says he's doing physical therapy, but now that he's moved he's not sure. He wants to come home, but he also wants to finish. I am hoping that he'll get a little more rest at least. I dont' know. I'm so lost and confused and upset.

I'm going to finish out to PIR with you all to give you all support because I feel very blessed to have been able to talk with you all.

I recieved a letter from my son, an I can only say that it was the best one page letter. I was excited my parents recieved a phone call so I am a little jealous they got to speak with him. I had my cellphone on silent and I missed his call so in his letter he states have your phone with you and keep the volume on, I need to here your voice mom I miss you ... Okay if that didn't get the water works going .. I was alittle taken back by that but OMG it was the best feeling ever. Cloud 9 for a few days

He also said on the 29th that he should be able to call me in a couple of days! Keeping my fingers crossed!

Diannep and Sobe thank you for your responses. Makes me sad I wont be able to drive him but I will at least see him at the airport...hopefully. I won't be going to PIR because he had said he would leave that same day but even if it were to be on Saturday instead it would still be too much for me since I start school that following Monday.
I actually got 3 letters from him today. He got pneumonia in his right lung so has been going to the dr and getting x-rays. He said he should be ready to run around by Monday (today) and gas chambers start this week for him. By his last letter dated the 29th he said he was 60% better so that made me feel a little better.

SailorsSweetheart: Someone on another site mentioned ACE for car rental. She said it was much cheaper than the other ones.
