Aww SailorsCupcake thats great! I know exactly how your feeling right now, my husband was able to call me for an unexpected 2min phone call(to explain the mailing situation). We got to tell each other "I love you", and that was amazing all in itself. I'm still in tears of happiness.

I did the same thing, I booked rooms at two places until I decided where I wanted to stay lol. The shuttle wasn't needed for us because we drove to PIR from NC and had our own car with us.

Thanks..I also booked a room at Residence Inn prior to my uncle telling me about the Navy lodge. I was just waiting to see what other family members wanted to do. Its looking like the Residence Inn may be a better option. (I just had seen your other post u mentioned.) Do you know how far the Ramada is from the Residence Inn is..for the meet and greet?

Many have, atcmom.  From the reports they gave, they really enjoyed it. Lala stayed there...she will be popping in on here.  I know she enjoyed it.  They give you a guest pass to visit one of the smaller NEXES (even without your sailor which is not normally allowed).  They also have kitchenettes but you have to request those and they may not be available.  It is only about a mile from the base.  No PIR shuttle, but you could drive to PIR or get a cab.
