Welcom Navy Loved ones! This site is so helpful for support and finding information and sharing information. Being a Navy Mom and Wife is such an honor. It isn't always easy to wait to hear from them, or to know that they have been, or will be in harms way, but we couldn't be more proud of our boys. The youngest boy said recently, "it feel pretty awsome to be part of something so big, and respected"... He is still in boot camp... My oldest has served three years and is a wonderful young man, who now believes serving their country is something all young men should do. We are so proud of all of our NAVY sons, husbands, daughters and wifes, boyfriends and girlfriends... Please share, ask questions, and enjoy the support provided by Navy for Moms.

Thanks! He's doing well, he's phased up in A-School so now he gets to where civies, but then last week he hurt his ankle paying basket ball and is "on hold" until he heals up a bit. Nothing serious but still an annoyance. Other than that, hubby is now working in washington, d.c. so it's been tough, he comes home on weekends tho.

Regarding the newspaper announcement on graduation.... If you have a local community, town, or county paper, they might be more willing to run the announcement than, let's say, a bigger "commercial" paper. At least that way you can get *something* in print until the bigger publication "finds room." In my book, these sorts of announcements should be right on the front page! lol

Yes, we got our video over the weekend. We will be taking for my parents to watch this weekend. They will truly enjoy!
Dorothy---I'm with you on the birthday! Tomorrow will be his 19th birthday & also his first one away from home! I too, am a little sad over it. Our Thanksgiving plans are currently on hold, because he has informed us he could be leaving Pcola BEFORE Thanksgiving! Really wants us to go down for the weekend before Thanksgiving. So now we try to make a decision!

Whaletalkers - Maybe post it again, if you wouldn't mind?? I checked with the RTC and they said it gets sent out to the newspapers via a form the recruits filled out based on the zip code they provided. They said it can take 1-2 months.
