HELLO, my friends....or any that are still on here from time to time!

I just wanted to let you know that J finished his A school(top of his class...YEAH!) and now is in NC for his combat school. He will be home for a few days in Oct. (When he finishes up the combat school) before he leaves for his FIRST ASSIGNMENT! He is going to JAPAN for TWO YEARS!

I would love to hear about your sailors and what they're up to! Still praying for our people and hope things are well for their family and friends too!

Blessings and Hope to hear from you soon!

Lori, we get the humity at times to but not always. That is the thing with Wisconsin weather it changes and when it does get hot and humid we usually get bad thunderstorms and sometimes tornados. But can't control the weather - our dream is once our youngest is out of high school we're moving somewhere warm. I'm wondering of Paul knows Jake. I know it's a long shot and Jake only goes by last names when he talks about anyone but I was just thinking wouldn't it be cool if they did. First thing I had to do when Jake hit Phase II was send him a box of clothes for weekend liberty. At least he's only 19 and so far doesn't drink but I still worry about that new found freedom they get after all the restrictions of BC.

Marilyn - I would love it if Jake got station somwhere where one of the Navy Moms live. We plan on visiting him where ever he lands so that would be awesome. Although he already told me of his 3 choices and VA was not one of them. He picked San Diego, Florida and Washington State. It must be exciting with Jordon already grad. A-School. Jake's a talker too - hated writing. I'm looking forward to Jake graduating but sort of dreading it because I know he will be farther from home when he does.

Alanna - my husband did basic training in Texas years ago and he's a Cali boy too so he can very much sympatize with your son.

Have a great day ladies......

After reading about your temperatrures where all of you live, I have to say I am spoiled!! I live in San Francisco where the weather is the same pretty much all year long. I do feel bad for my son he is in Texas with temps over 100 degrees, he tells me he misses his San Francisco Fog. Good luck to all of your sailors where ever they may be.

Katie-my ideal temp [ all year round!] would be 75-80. With NO humidity- like we are having. UGH.
That's so great you will be seeing jake so soon. I think the earliest we will see Paul is thanksgiving or christmas.
Yeah i get no more letters either- and I really miss that. he would write stuff that he normally wouldn't say.

Marilyn- that would be terrific if J would be home at the 4th! And he graduates so soon? Paul has only just started the first stage of his classes. He was very happy to get to phase 2- civvies on the weekend!
What is J's next step does he know yet?
I personally LIKED the less freedom part! Since P is 22 phase 2 means they can drink on liberty. Oh great.
I am SOOO looking forward to the 4th!

Good morning!
I spoke with Jordan yesterday, and he is grad. A school July 2nd, and then....? He will find out later this week (or at least that's the plan!) what the next step with be. I am hoping that maybe he can come home for a few days around the 4th before he goes off to the next step! At this point....WHO KNOWS?!?! I'm just glad things are going pretty well, and we can talk to him when we need to! No more letters from him either - but then again, he wasn't great about it at BC! He's a talker - not a writer!

YEAH - ALANA....sounds like things are going well...and you'll have some more time with him soon!

Katie - Virginia is warmer !! It'd be super great if he came here, then YOU could come visit here too! :) I'm with him on the cold...HATE IT! Can't wait to live somewhere that's warm pretty much ALL THE TIME YEAR AROUND!

Lori - Miss you too! Glad P was able to Phase Two! Now he'll have more freedom to do his own thing....and start moving toward getting his time done in the school - and off to his ADVENTURE! Happy it's all going well. :0 ) How fun would it be to have J join us on our 4th adventure in DC?!?!

Lori, Yes we usualy have warm summers - normal temps are like 75 - 90 degrees but we have been known to have cool wet summers too. Our weather is a lot like Great Lakes. I seem to take it one day at a time yet. I know Jake will be home over the July 4th weekend and I can't wait to see him. We do talk at least twice a week. Last talked to him on Friday while they were having the terrible storms there. He refuses to write letters anymore - that was torture in BC for him. He is much better at talking than writing. Jake should graduate sometime in August then will come home for 2 weeks before heading off to his duty station. Hopefuly he will come home on weekends often this summer because I know once he heads off to his duty station we won't see him for months at a time.

Alanna- that's great he will be finishing so soon. I need to get a computer to skype. P finally is in phase 2 as of this week. Stayed at GL and school is long- I think he graduates in Jan.

Katie- does Wisconsin have warm summers? Like you I'm having a hard time thinking ahead. Now that BC I haven't heard from him as much- I miss the letters!

Marilyn- miss you!

My son is in A school at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio Texas for MA. He will finish at the end of July and be able to come home for two weeks, and then on to his next post. He will find out where he will be stationed in two weeks. He calls me often...so good to hear from him!! We SKYPE as well.

Marilyn, Wow - you will find out this soon where he will be deployed? I have a hard time thinking that far ahead. Jakes dream sheet will consist of somewhere warm. Living in Wisconsin for 19 years with the long cold winters he wants warm. But all that I agree is in Gods hands and we will see.....I agree I still love being in touch with all the Navy Moms.

We're hoping J will "phase II" by the end of the month - and we hear that NEXT WEEK he may find out where he's being deployed! And if he has to go to COMBAT school for sure or not. On his "dream sheet" he put down that he wants to be deployed with the Marines overseas....rather than Navy stateside/shore duty. So, we'll see where GOD puts him next. It may be SOON!

It's wonderful that we are still staying connected y'all! :)

Blessings,
~marilyn~
