YEAH!! They're all getting settled into their next big step. It is awesome reading about each of your SAILORS and knowing that they are on their way to BECOMING the amazing part of the Navy that they are. Does the US NAVY have ANY IDEA how blessed they are to get such WONDERFUL people?!?! I hope so. :)

J texted me late last night from someone's phone that he'd made it to SC and so far everything was going well. After the issues he had starting out - that was a HUGE PRAISE MOMENT and relief for me. I don't have any more details yet, but I am waiting and hoping they come soon. I would like a few more specifics! (how are his accommodations, does he have a good room mate, his address, when the phone and laptop can be sent....etc!) A mamma wants to know this stuff!!

I'm really glad we're still checking in on here. I don't know if the moms usually are good at keeping in touch - but I LOVE so many of you and felt that you are people I would chose as friends even if it weren't for the Navy, that I hope we don't loose touch as this process progresses!

Have an AWESOME day!
~marilyn~

PS...Jill...BLACKHAWKS are STILL UP A GAME. We'll just see how tomorrow nights game goes! HA! :-)

Hello all, just a quick note to let you know that my son has made it to A school in San Antonio, Texas (Lackland Air Force Base). He called and said I could send his laptop and cell to him now. He told me it would probably take about 10 days for him to get it. He said the rooms are nice they have a tv and dvd player. He says it is very hot there put he really likes it. He gave me his address to send his laptop, cell etc. If any one wants the address let me know via message.

Welcome home everyone! I hope that everyone has arrived home safely. PIR was a truly amazing and awesome experience. It was far more than words could ever express. I can not express the how excited and proud my husband and I were at seeing our son come marching in with his division. And how proud they all seemed and deservedly so. Seeing our new Sailors for the first time in almost 2 months! What a joy it was. And meeting many parents, families and especially the Navy4Moms! It was the most incredible experience ever. You are all so incredibly special and we will have this bond forever. I hope that your and your sailors' travels are smooth and filled with much happiness and joy. We had a blast meeting several of you and spending time with you and your families. We also did not make the M&G after, in fact, by the time we got there, everyone was gone but if your sailors were like mine, they all wanted to get started with LIBERTY and that meant leaving base! Thanks to all who contributed to making the M&G as success. Thanks again to Lori for the beautiful corsages and Teri for the ribbons. They turned out great. As many Moms as I met, I feel I missed out on meeting some. Best of luck to you all and perhaps our paths will cross again. Marilyn and Lori, it was great spending some extra time with you and we sooo enjoyed oursevles. You both have such wonderful families and we loved meeting them. Marilyn, you truly bring a smile to each one of us. Take care all and lets all try and touch base once in awhile as our paths now take us in different directions. I would love to hear how you and each of your sailors are doing. By the way, C called yesterday afternoon and they landed in St. Louis. The bus was to pick them up around 7:00 p.m. CT for the 2 hour bus ride to Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri. C will be part of the Seabee program as an EA. We have not heard from him yet but hoping that he can call tonight with his address and information when we can send out his computer, phone, etc. His grade A school does not start for 2 weeks. Have a great week everyone! And Marilyn, I can't resist but "GO FLYERS!!" Tee heee heee heee. ;)

I'm constantly learning too- it stands for electronics technician.
I have a book that paul had got when he joined the Navy- it's called the Bluejacket's Manual. Very helpful. Has all the terms and info one needs- I just need to remember to look it up!

Enginemen - As my boys would say my blonde roots are showing - what does ET stand for?
Comment by lori on June 2, 2010 at 5:36pm
What is he training for? Paul is doing ET.

I really have no idea how they do things. I'm assuming it depends on their job they are training for maybe. I know there was another boy from Jake's division going for the same thing as Jake and thought they would be together. All he gave his dad was his address. I'm hoping he gets to call again with more info. I'm going to check in with his girlfriend tonight. She seems to get more info than I do lately. I'll let you know if I hear anything.

I hope A school will be easier- but from what I've read on the AECF site it sounds VERY hard. But it won't be hard in the same way as BC was that's for sure.

Did Jake say how they place them with others? If that guy has been there a month then it looks like our guys will be waiting a while too before it starts.
Any idea when ATT starts did he say?

Lori, Jake too is in Great Lakes but I didn't get to talk with him seeing he called his Dads phone while his dad was at work. I did get an address though and waiting to hear from him on when I can send him the things he needs. Jake happens to be rooming with a guy who has beent here a month already so I'm sure he will help Jake out showing him the ropes. A School will be a breeze after what they went though in BC.
